About Our Internship Program:

Throughout your internship, you will have regular events, weekly lunch and learn sessions, and receive customized training from our business units. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into supporting the needs of Stanley Black & Decker both in the US and abroad. The interns will gain first-hand exposure to Stanley Black & Decker and have the opportunity to build a cross-functional professional network. Interns are expected to adapt to change and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, creativity, and confidence. Interns must be team-oriented and collaborative.

The Job:

During your internship, you will have the opportunity to support Manuals / Technical Writing with key activities including:

• Manual development: Assist in the creation, editing, and maintenance of product manuals, instruction sheets, and technical documentation for hand tools and power tools, ensuring content is clear, accurate, and user-friendly.
• Content collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product design, regulatory, and marketing, to gather technical information and translate complex concepts into easy-to-understand documentation.
• Document review and quality: Support the review and validation of manuals and technical content to ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and brand guidelines.
• Process improvement: Assist in improving documentation processes, templates, and content organization to enhance consistency, efficiency, and usability across manuals and support materials.

You will have exposure to several areas of Manuals / Technical Writing at Stanley Black & Decker. You will work on a wide variety of tasks and projects with a cross-functional team of professionals, including Product Design Group, Engineering, Regulatory, Quality, Product Marketing, and Manufacturing.

The Person:

The ideal Manuals / Technical Writer intern candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Be a rising junior or senior with a target graduation date of 2027 or 2028.
• Technical Writing, English, Communications, Journalism, Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
• Maintains strong academic credentials.
• Strong written communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and documentation or content development tools.
• Successfully manages strong academics alongside extracurricular activities.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship (H1B, OPT/CPT, TN etc).
