Job Description

GE Vernova - The Energy to Change the World

With over 130 years of experience and proven innovation, GE Vernova is leading a new era of energy. We are electrifying the world while working to decarbonize it. Our name reflects our mission. "GE" carries a legacy of quality and ingenuity. "Ver" signals Earth's lush ecosystems, while "Nova" nods to a new era of lower-carbon energy we are helping to deliver.

Focused on the future, GE Vernova is accelerating the shift to reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy. We help customers power economies and deliver electricity vital to health, safety, and quality of life.

Wind

Wind energy is essential to a low-carbon future. We design and build advanced Offshore and Onshore Wind technologies, as well as high-performing Wind Turbine Blades, to capture the power of nature and turn it into progress.

Let's Talk about the Role

The Converter, Cooling & Electrical Engineer will provide advanced technical expertise to resolve complex system issues, ensuring the highest possible availability for our wind turbine fleet.

You will act as a key technical authority for wind turbine converters, cooling, and electrical systems. By diagnosing performance issues and supporting our field teams, you will minimize downtime and ensure our assets deliver reliable, clean energy. You will bridge the gap between complex engineering challenges and practical field solutions, driving continuous improvement.

How You Will Make a Difference

  • Optimizing converter performance through advanced diagnostics, failure analysis, and proactive monitoring to reduce turbine downtime.

  • Driving the technical resolution of complex turbine trips, providing clear, actionable work instructions that enable field technicians to restore service efficiently.

  • Collaborating across cross-functional teams, including EHS, Quality, and Sourcing, to ensure repair work is completed safely and to the highest standards.

  • Improving operational procedures and fault-handling tools to empower both Remote Operations Center (ROC) staff and field teams.

  • Developing long-term technical strategies to increase self-reliance in maintaining and operating converter systems throughout their lifecycle.

  • Reporting investigation outcomes clearly to internal stakeholders and end customers to maintain transparency and trust.

  • Escalating high-impact, recurring issues to Engineering teams, utilizing technical insights to support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and long-term problem solving.

Special Role Requirements

  • Able to travel for field assignments, including offshore environments.

  • Willing to climb wind turbines to perform technical assessments and support field operations.

Skills for Success

You should be a dedicated technical problem-solver with a strong background in electrical and control systems, possessing:

  • The ability to analyze complex data sets, including SCADA, controller, and system trends, to pinpoint causal factors.

  • The capability to communicate technical solutions clearly to diverse audiences, including field technicians and customers.

  • An understanding of wind turbine technology and operation, with a focus on converter and cooling systems.

  • An expertise in electrical engineering or technical field support.

  • A proactive mindset and a clear sense of urgency when addressing operational challenges.

A formal education as a certified technician or an engineering degree is essential and we are also interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
