About this Documentation Designer – Commercial Construction role at Outsourcedstaff
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client is an independent Australian commercial construction company, founded in 1988 with family business roots and now in its second generation of leadership, delivering design and construction projects nationally. The business specialises in childcare and education, medical and hospital, and veterinary sector projects, alongside general commercial office fit-outs and renovations.
ABOUT THE ROLE
-
You are here to produce accurate, coordinated and buildable documentation for the company's childcare, medical and veterinary projects.
-
You will take established design intent, client requirements and consultant information and turn them into clear documentation that can be priced, approved and constructed.
-
This is a documentation role, not a concept design role — you don't need to be the person developing the big design idea. The company needs someone who enjoys taking a design and making it work technically, documenting it properly and getting it ready to build.
-
Documentation sits at the intersection of every other team on a project — Designers, consultants, clients, Technical and Delivery all feed into it, and this role is responsible for coordinating that information into one accurate, buildable set.
PRIMARY PURPOSE
To produce accurate, coordinated and timely construction documentation — taking established design intent, client requirements and consultant information and turning them into drawings and schedules that can be priced, approved and constructed, with minimal rework and minimal RFIs.
