The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the property or assigned entities, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and financial reporting. This role ensures financial integrity, supports strategic business goals, and maintains compliance with company policies, brand standards, and applicable laws. The Director of Finance provides leadership to the accounting team and partners closely with operations management to drive financial performance.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Director of Finance    

Department: Accounting                

Supervision Exercised: Accounting Manager, Staff Accountants, Accounting Clerks

Supervision Received: General Manager

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting required.
  • Familiarity with accounting systems such as Aptech PVNG, OnQ PMS, or similar preferred.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control procedures.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with property management, ownership, and corporate teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
