You will work with customers from initial discovery and assessment through to solution design, migration, implementation and optimisation, helping them create secure, effective and scalable digital workplace environments.

Working across Microsoft 365, identity, collaboration, security and compliance, you will translate business requirements into practical technical solutions while ensuring security, governance and user experience are considered throughout.

You will also contribute to customer workshops, technical proposals and pre-sales activity, working alongside our wider Cloud & Cyber teams to develop high-quality solutions and strengthen Sword's Digital Workplace capability.

As a Digital Workplace Consultant, you will:

  • Deliver Digital Workplace consulting engagements including assessments, maturity reviews, health checks and optimisation activities.
  • Lead and facilitate customer discovery sessions and workshops to understand business requirements, challenges, desired outcomes and potential use cases.
  • Develop target-state architectures, technical roadmaps and implementation plans for Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Design and deliver Microsoft 365 solutions aligned to customer requirements across security, compliance, collaboration and user experience.
  • Lead or contribute to Microsoft 365 migration and transformation programmes, including tenant-to-tenant and on-premises to Microsoft 365 migrations.
  • Design and implement solutions across Microsoft 365 workloads including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and OneDrive.
  • Design and implement identity and access solutions using Microsoft Entra ID, including Conditional Access, authentication and identity governance.
  • Embed security, identity and compliance principles into Digital Workplace solutions, including Microsoft Zero Trust approaches.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into secure, scalable and supportable solutions.
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation including high-level and low-level designs, architecture diagrams, implementation documentation and operational handover materials.
  • Work with customers to improve the security, resilience, compliance and operational maturity of their Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Provide technical guidance and trusted consultancy throughout the solution lifecycle, working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support pre-sales and business development activities, including technical proposals, RFP and tender responses, Statements of Work and customer presentations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert across Microsoft 365 and Digital Workplace technologies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Cloud, Cyber and Engineering to deliver integrated customer solutions.
  • Mentor and support colleagues, sharing knowledge and helping develop capability across the wider practice.
  • Contribute to the development of repeatable approaches, frameworks and technical assets that support the continued growth of Sword's Digital Workplace capability.
  • Keep up to date with the Microsoft technology roadmap, emerging capabilities and industry best practice.

Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering Microsoft 365 or Digital Workplace consulting engagements within customer-facing environments.
  • Strong experience designing and implementing Microsoft 365 solutions for mid-market or enterprise customers.
  • Experience working across the full solution lifecycle, from discovery and design through to delivery, optimisation and operational support.
  • Experience supporting or leading Microsoft 365 migrations and transformation programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and OneDrive.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, including identity and access management, Conditional Access, authentication and identity-driven security.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft security and compliance capabilities, including Microsoft Defender and data protection, governance and compliance controls.
  • Experience working with hybrid and migration scenarios, including on-premises to Microsoft 365 and Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migrations.
  • Strong consulting and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Experience producing high-quality technical designs, architecture documentation and implementation materials.
  • Confidence leading workshops and communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience contributing to pre-sales activity, including proposals, RFPs, Statements of Work and technical customer discussions.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables.
  • Relevant Microsoft 365 and identity certifications or accreditations, with MS-102 and SC-300 particularly relevant to the role.
