We are the people who give possibilities purpose

BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world. Advancing the world of health™ is our Purpose, and it’s no small feat. It takes the imagination and passion of all of us—from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year—to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.

Job Description

As the Digital Product Manager, Platform Core Components, you will define the product strategy, roadmap, investment priorities, and adoption model for reusable capabilities that enable Smart Factory solutions across global manufacturing sites. These capabilities include access management, master data management, notifications, shared UI components, data and integration services, and governance frameworks for AI-enabled solutions. You will collaborate across Digital Product Managers, use-case teams, design, architecture, infrastructure, data, and governance teams to consolidate requirements and ensure that reusable platform components are standardized, scalable, and consistently adopted across Smart Factory and Industrial Supply Chain digital solutions.

Main responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for reusable digital platform core components, balancing short-term business priorities with long-term scalability, security, reliability, maintainability, and global deployment needs.
  • Review use-case demand with process owners, site users, and product teams; prioritize requirements based on business value, user impact, technical feasibility, risk, and regulatory considerations.
  • Drive product discovery and capability shaping, working with Digital Product Managers, Business Analysts, Designers, Architects, and Engineering teams to translate common business needs into scalable solutions, define MVPs, and prioritize product evolution.
  • Translate business needs into product requirements to define a backlog for delivery teams working through Agile and DevOps practices.
  • Identify overlapping requirements and duplicated functionality across products, sites, and use cases, consolidating them into standardized components, design-system patterns, shared UI libraries, Storybook assets, APIs, and reusable platform services.
  • Own the lifecycle and governance of core capabilities, including access management, role-based permissions, master data management, notification services, shared UI components, data services, APIs, SDKs, and approved integration patterns.
  • Build business cases, quantify expected benefits, ROI, and payback, and manage the product financial view covering development, licensing, support, forecasts, cost controls, and contract true-ups.
  • Define success metrics and monitor adoption, reuse, service performance, data availability, user satisfaction, operational value, and delivery outcomes; use evidence to guide roadmap and investment decisions.
  • Provide clear product direction to internal teams and external delivery partners, managing dependencies, release priorities, and delivery expectations while maintaining accountability for product outcomes and overall platform coherence.
  • Establish governance expectations for platform services and AI-enabled capabilities, including data access boundaries, human oversight, monitoring, auditability, cybersecurity, quality, compliance, and escalation of issues affecting business continuity.
  • Strong knowledge of software product development and delivery for reusable digital platform components, including frontend and backend architecture, design systems, standardized UI component libraries, Storybook, APIs, SDKs, shared services, integration patterns, versioning, testing, release management, CI/CD and DevOps practices, cybersecurity requirements, technical governance, and applicable regulatory practices.
  • Demonstrated experience working across Product, Design, Architecture, Engineering, Data, Infrastructure, Operations, and business stakeholders to translate common and ambiguous needs into scalable platform capabilities, align ownership and dependencies, define MVPs, and drive reuse across products and use cases.

About you:

  • 5+ years of product management experience delivering digital, software, data, automation, or manufacturing technology solutions in industrial environments. Cognite experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience leading complex cross-functional projects involving global teams, manufacturing sites, vendors, and technology partners.
  • Strong product delivery and project management skills, including planning, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, dependency tracking, and executive reporting.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, release planning, UAT, deployment readiness, documentation, problem-solving, and value realization tracking.
  • Technical degree preferred (Computer Science, Engineering, Automation, or related field); certifications in Product Management, Agile, Scrum, software delivery, data platforms, or manufacturing technologies are considered a plus.
