About the team

Join us and you'll have the opportunity to make an impact within an organisation committed to delivering sustainable outcomes. At Ordnance Survey, we use location data and intelligence to help customers build resilient communities, protect the environment, improve public services, and develop critical infrastructure.

Our Marketing team plays a vital role in connecting customers with the products, services, and insights that help them solve real-world challenges. We work collaboratively across the business to create engaging customer experiences that build awareness, trust, and long-term relationships.

About the role

At the heart of the Customer Engagement team is a clear goal: to build personalised, meaningful connections that drive lasting customer loyalty. We craft data-led, omnichannel journeys, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic, innovative Customer Engagement Executive to help bring them to life.

As part of a collaborative team of four within the wider Digital Marketing function, you’ll work across app, eCommerce, and B2B/G channels. Reporting to the Customer Engagement Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we communicate with our customers.

You’ll be working within the Customer Engagement Team, crafting impactful, data-driven communications that captivate geospatial businesses and outdoor enthusiasts alike. From design right through to experimentation and personalisation, this role offers an exciting blend of creativity, strategy and performance.

  • Create compelling content across email (triggered and solus), SMS, and in-app notifications for both B2B/G and B2C audiences

  • Own and manage the solus email calendar, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure timely, clear communication of key events and promotions

  • Run regular A/B/n tests to optimise performance—experimenting with copy, visuals, timing, and more

  • Leverage behavioural data to deliver personalised product recommendations, feature highlights, and location-based inspiration

  • Contribute to performance reporting, sharing insights and results with confidence and clarity

  • Support campaign design with high-quality creative assets for giveaways, sign-up forms, and promotional activity

  • Get hands-on with helping to grow our triggered journeys, gamified loyalty programme, and lead scoring capabilities

What we’re looking for

We’re after someone who’s not just creative, but also analytical - a proactive communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You’ll bring:

  • A flair for creative design and copywriting

  • A data-driven mindset with a passion for testing and optimisation

  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills

  • The ability to juggle multiple projects with calm, clear-headed problem-solving

  • A solid grasp of storytelling, marketing trends, and customer psychology

  • Confidence using tools like Photoshop, Figma, or similar

  • Experience with platforms such as Braze, DotDigital, or Microsoft Dynamics 365

  • An interest in technology, data, geography, mapping or the outdoors.

The rewards

We want you to love what you do and feel supported to do your best work.

Our benefits include:

  • Competitive salary and pension (OS contribute up to 12.07%)
  • Performance‑related bonus (where applicable)
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays (increasing with service)
  • Enhanced family leave, including paid partner leave
  • Hybrid and flexible working options
  • Learning and development support, coaching and mentoring
  • Free subscription to OS Maps and access to wellbeing support
  • Volunteering leave and matched fundraising

Location & working pattern

We embrace a hybrid working model at OS, because we believe in flexibility and balance. You’ll be based at our fantastic HQ in Southampton, Hampshire, where you'll spend 50% of your working week collaborating face-to-face with colleagues. It’s all about combining the best of both worlds connection and autonomy to help you thrive.

Security & eligibility

OS conducts pre-employment checks for anyone made an offer of employment, including identity, right to work, employment history and criminal record checks (via Disclosure & Barring Services (DBS)).

Some of our roles may require additional security vetting. We will advise candidates during the recruitment process if additional vetting may be required for that specific role.

This role requires the right to work in the UK at the time of application. Unfortunately, OS cannot provide visa sponsorship for this position.

Inclusion at OS

Research shows that people from underrepresented groups often hesitate to apply unless they meet every requirement. At Ordnance Survey, we’re committed to building a diverse, inclusive and welcoming workplace.

If this role excites you but your experience doesn’t match every point, we encourage you to apply. You may be the right person for this role or another opportunity at OS.

We are happy to consider any reasonable adjustments that people may need during the recruitment process, and you will be asked whether you require any during the application process.

Key details
Closing date: 11:59pm on 9 November 2026
Interview format: Interviews will be conducted via Microsoft Teams.
Recruitment process: The selection process will consist of two interview stages.
