McGill Writing Centre Fall 2026 Term

 

The McGill Writing Centre is inviting applications for a Course Lecturer to teach Graphos course WCOM 672-701 (CRN 9167 – 1 credit) - Selected Topics in Communication 2 during the Fall 2026 term.

 

Course: WCOM 672-701 (CRN 9167 – 1 credit) - Selected Topics in Communication 2

Salary: $3,941.33 / No of lectures: 10 / No of contact hours: 13
Dates and time: October 13, 2026 – December 1, 2026, Tuesdays, 9:00 am-12:00 pm
Location: TBA

Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs):

 

Education:

  • Graduate Degree in Agricultural or Environmental Sciences or a closely related field (e.g., Plant Science, Chemistry, Bioresource Engineering).
  • Evidence of having received training in teaching at the post-secondary level.
  • Evidence of having received training in planning scientific experiments, managing research projects, and communicating scientific research.

 

Experience:

  • Experience teaching research planning and management, data collection, data visualization, and scientific writing at the postsecondary level.

 

Applicants must:
1. demonstrate an ability to design structured course materials, including learning activities, based on the course description and target audience;
2. demonstrate an ability to foster learning by establishing a positive classroom dynamic, involving learners in various activities, and managing student participation and group interactions effectively;
3. demonstrate an ability to communicate clearly and effectively in the language of the course, both orally and in writing;
4. provide evidence of an ability to use a variety of technologies to support student learning;
5. provide evidence of how they keep abreast of advances in the field of expertise relevant to the course in question;
6. demonstrate the ability to carry out the duties and obligations of a course lecturer in a respectful and timely manner;
7. demonstrate the ability to work with the Faculty of Arts and University administration to address class management issues in a constructive and timely manner.
