JOB SUMMARY: Assists the Revantage Corporate Tax Department with US tax compliance projects. Supports tax reporting and ensures compliance with all applicable tax regulations by reviewing and entering financial data accurately into tax software. Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of tax filings, including federal, state, and local tax returns. Responsibilities also include assisting with W-9 forms, supporting year-end reporting requirements, as well as preparation of taxable income projections.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Tax Compliance:

  • Tax Return Preparation: Responsible for entering financial data (such as income statements, balance sheets, and general ledgers) into tax preparation software, (e.g., OneSource or similar) ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
  • Review Financial Information: Ensures data entered into tax systems matches the company’s financial records, including cross-referencing general ledgers and trial balances to verify accuracy.
  • Document Management: Organizes and stores tax-related documents (e.g., tax returns, supporting schedules, and financial reports) in a secure system, ensuring easy access during the tax filing process.
  • Tax Filing Support: Assists in the preparation of tax filings by ensuring that all forms are filled out correctly and in compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local tax laws.
  • Tax Payment Tracking: Helps track tax payment deadlines and assists in preparing payment instructions for various tax authorities.
  • W-9 Assistance: Promptly responds to W-9 requests from attorneys, Portfolio Companies, and Revantage.
  • Tax Projection Support: Prepares federal tax projections by gathering financial data and analyzing year-to-date activity.
  • Earnings and Profits Support: Prepares monthly REIT earnings and profits calculations pulling data from multiple sources.

Ad-Hoc Compliance and Reporting Support:

  • Assistance with Reporting: Helps prepare ad-hoc reports, tax schedules, and supporting documentation needed for tax filings, audits, or management reviews.
  • Support for Tax Audits: Assists in providing data and documentation for tax audits by ensuring the completeness and accuracy of information in the tax software.
  • File Management: Ensures that all tax-related files are appropriately archived and easily retrievable for future filings or audits.

SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Tax-related coursework or certification is a plus.
  • Experience: Prior experience with U.S. corporate tax compliance is required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with tax preparation software (e.g., OneSource, Corptax, etc.) is required.
  • Attention to Detail: Must have strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data entry and compliance with tax regulations.
  • Communication: Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in the preparation of reports and documentation for tax filings.
  • Organizational Skills: Must be able to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
