Position Summary

CBC Sports is seeking an organized and proactive Acquisitions & Programming Coordinator to join our team. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of CBC Sports, you will be the core operational pivot point for contract administration and compliance.

In this role, you will take ownership of contracts once initial deals are finalized by the Senior Director. You will act as the primary operational contact for international, national and local sporting organizations to manage and resolve issues, while collaborating with key internal departments such as Legal and Communications to ensure alignment and secure organizational buy-in. You will also monitor the digital and broadcast event scheduling and track contract execution to ensure compliance across all of our streaming and broadcast platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Lifecycle Administration

You will act as the central administrator for contracts and agreements with international, national and local sporting organizations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Active and Archived Tracking: Set up, update, and maintain a highly organized, comprehensive tracking database of all active and archived sports acquisition and programming contracts.

  • Contract Construction: Construct and prepare standard individual contracts and agreements utilizing established templates, ensuring rigorous compliance with Corporate guidelines and legal precedents.

  • Database Maintenance: Adapt internal databases to changing contractual and programming requirements, compile specialized administrative reports, and advise internal users on how to maximize system benefits.

Compliance, Execution & Broadcast Tracking

You will serve as the first line of review for ensuring that CBC Sports' live broadcasts and streaming events align fully with legal obligations:

  • Execution Auditing: Track the execution of broadcast and digital streaming contracts. Regularly audit programming schedules, telecast logs, and stream performance to guarantee compliance with executed contract terms.

  • Discrepancy Resolution: Examine telecast confirmations, activity logs to identify and independently resolve discrepancies, mismatches, or schedule errors. Recommend corrective actions or escalate to appropriate authority.

Relationship & Stakeholder Communications

You will be a key communicator representing CBC Sports both internally and externally:

  • External Partner Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for external sporting organizations (both national and local) post-deal execution. Troubleshoot routine administrative or partnership issues and resolve conflicts independently within established operational guidelines.

  • Internal Alignment: Proactively communicate with key internal stakeholders, including the Legal department and Corporate Communications, to keep them apprised of contract statuses, compile organizational feedback, and secure necessary buy-in.

Scheduling & Broadcast Support

  • Event Programming & Scheduling: Coordinate and input schedules for sports events across digital streaming and television broadcast platforms. Assist in preparing on-air schedules, telecast confirmations in compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Graduation from a Community College or equivalent is required.

  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of directly related administrative, contract coordination, or programming logistics experience, preferably within a broadcast media or sports administration environment.

  • Contract Literacy: Proven ability to read, interpret, draft, and track standard contracts and templates, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.

  • Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills to build collaborative relationships with external sports organizations, and work cross-functionally with internal legal, finance, and communications teams.

  • Database & Analytical Skills: Advanced capability to set up, update, and audit complex databases or trackers, with a keen eye for finding and correcting broadcast/digital log errors.

  • Media Scheduling (Asset): Experience in media programming, digital stream tracking, or on-air/CRTC logging is highly valued.

What we bring

  • CBC Sports offers a creative and dynamic work environment, where your ideas and contributions can be heard, valued and respected.

  • A supportive management team committed to upholding the highest standards of diversity and inclusivity.

  • Opportunities for continued learning and professional development.

  • Mentorship opportunities, where you can learn from the best in the industry and help coach new talent.

  • An environment which favours collaboration, inclusion, creativity and innovation.

  • Hybrid work opportunities.

  • Flexibility in work schedules to help contribute to a healthy work/life balance.

Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.

We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.

As part of our recruitment process, candidates who advance to the next

step will be asked to complete a background check. This includes:

  • A mandatory Criminal record check.

  • Other background checks may be conducted based on the operational requirements of the position.
