Your next career opportunity
In this role, you will support AURIN's data licensing and contract management across a national research network. You will learn/help to translate technical data needs into clear legal instructions, helping secure datasets for sustainable, resilient cities research. 

What you will deliver:

  • Assist the Legal, Risk and Compliance Manager to prepare and refine data licensing and partnering documentation.
  • Coordinate tracking, management and timely completion of routine contractual and licensing tasks within AURIN's systems and processes.
  • Support contract compliance by implementing tools to monitor obligations, report progress and encourage team collaboration and participation.
  • Identify and escalate contractual risks, helping secure appropriate University approvals and ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate contract files and intellectual property records that meet University policy and audit trail requirements.
     

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Hold or are completing a relevant law or business degree with experience in contract development or management.
  • Demonstrate experience working in an office environment, using the Microsoft Office suite with high accuracy and efficiency.
  • Exhibit strong organisational and time management skills, prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines in changing environments.
  • Work independently and collaboratively, building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders on contractual matters.
  • Provide clear, confident written and verbal communication, including drafting contract instructions and advising on compliance queries.
  • Bring experience or interest in academic research, complex organisations, intellectual property and university policy frameworks.
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail across contract variations, budgets, timelines and supporting documentation.

The Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN) exists to enable access to world-class research infrastructure for urban research. We support urban research that is focused on mitigating the impacts of climate change, energy transitions, and demographic shifts in our cities and regions. We provide access to data and software tools, some of which we build and develop, and expertise in data access, management, and analysis.

AURIN is led by the University of Melbourne and funded by the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS). AURIN comprises a national network of partner organisations. Most AURIN team members are hosted at the University of Melbourne within the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning (ABP).
