About this Content Marketing Manager role at The Washington Post

The Washington Post · Remote · TX-TWP Remote Office

Job Description

Arc XP is the content platform and operating system built to power growth for ambitious media companies. Developed by The Washington Post, Arc XP enables media organizations to innovate rapidly, strengthen direct audience relationships, and grow independent revenue.

The Content Marketing Manager creates and activates content that helps media and publishing buyers understand Arc XP’s products, expertise, and customer outcomes. Reporting to the Global VP of Marketing, this individual contributor manages the content calendar and day-to-day content program across written, social, video, webinar, and digital channels. The role partners with Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Sales, Customer Success, Creative, and subject matter experts to produce useful, credible content that strengthens engagement and supports qualified pipeline.

What Motivates You

  • You care about clear, thoughtful writing and understand the value of strong editing, reporting, and storytelling.
  • You enjoy turning complex technology, product, and customer information into content that is useful to a defined audience.
  • You are motivated by producing content that contributes to engagement, signups, and pipeline—not simply page views.
  • You are curious about how buyers find information through search, AI-powered tools, social media, and trusted industry sources.
  • You use AI thoughtfully to improve research, workflow, and content repurposing while maintaining editorial judgment and accuracy.

How You’ll Support the Mission

  • Manage the editorial calendar and content-development workflow to deliver timely, audience-focused content aligned with marketing priorities and campaign goals.
  • Write and edit short- and long-form content—including articles, web and landing-page copy, emails, customer stories, case studies, guides, and thought-leadership materials—to communicate Arc XP’s value clearly.
  • Interview customers, partners, and internal subject matter experts to develop credible stories that demonstrate Arc XP’s products and customer outcomes.
  • Partner with Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Sales, Customer Success, and Creative to support campaigns with relevant content that drives engagement and qualified demand.
  • Coordinate freelancers, agencies, and internal contributors to maintain content quality, accuracy, consistency, and alignment with Arc XP’s brand voice.
  • Conduct keyword and audience-intent research and apply on-page optimization practices to improve organic discoverability and conversion opportunities.
  • Monitor emerging AI-search and answer-engine trends and recommend practical content improvements that strengthen Arc XP’s visibility with prospective buyers.
  • Manage Arc XP’s B2B social-media calendar and day-to-day channel activity to extend the reach and relevance of marketing content.
  • Produce or coordinate content across formats—including short-form video, webinar materials, social assets, and basic visual content—to engage audiences through appropriate channels.
  • Track content performance using web analytics, search tools, marketing automation, and CRM data to identify insights and improve future content investments.
  • Use AI-enabled tools for approved research, drafting, repurposing, and production activities while maintaining source validation, human review, and editorial standards.

The Skills and Experience You Bring

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
  • Three to five years of experience in content marketing, editorial, journalism, communications, or a related field.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, demonstrated through a professional portfolio.
  • Experience creating content for multiple channels and formats, including web, email, social media, and longer-form assets.
  • Experience managing an editorial calendar, content workflow, or content-development process.
  • Working knowledge of SEO, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and performance reporting.
  • Experience using web analytics and search-performance tools, such as Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners and incorporate feedback from subject matter experts.
  • Ability to organize work independently, manage deadlines, and maintain high editorial standards.
  • Authorization to work in the United States and ability to work remotely from the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in B2B SaaS, media technology, publishing technology, or digital media.
  • Experience interviewing customers and producing case studies or customer stories.
  • Experience with marketing automation and CMS platforms, such as HubSpot and Webflow.
  • Familiarity with answer-engine optimization, generative-engine optimization, or AI-enabled search.
  • Experience creating or coordinating social, video, webinar, or basic visual-design content.
  • Familiarity with the media and publishing industry.
