Intel's Global Construction Engineering (GCE) organization is responsible for the design and engineering of Intel's major manufacturing and cleanroom facilities worldwide. Our organization consists of highly specialized, in-house architects and engineers working in a deeply collaborative environment. Together with our factory, operations, and supply chain partners, we deliver some of the most technically complex construction programs in the industry - projects that demand precision, speed, and disciplined cost management.

This is a hybrid Contract position in Penang, Malaysia.

As a Construction Project Design Manager - Global Construction Engineering, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Develop discipline scope and engineering solutions for construction projects.
• Interface and coordinate with contract design, construction, scheduling, and estimating resources.
• Interface with facilities staff and project managers, factory partners, particularly the Industrial Engineering team, to determine the optimal facility design scope and engineering solutions that support evolving factory requirements and business needs
• Define design criteria, lead scope definition and justification, develop design concepts, and oversee completion of positioning, programming, and detailed design.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design activities to ensure alignment with project objectives, schedule, budget, and constructability requirements.
• Work with estimators to ensure costs are captured and project budgets are met.
• Have strong knowledge of Intel's master specifications and standards, while utilizing established change processes to improve standards and drive innovative solutions.
• Collaborate and share learnings with counterparts at other sites across the globe.
• Build and drive a safety culture of caring in every business environment, from offices to construction sites, and from front-end planning through construction execution.
• Candidates with experience as a Design Manager on semiconductor manufacturing or advanced technology facility construction projects are highly encouraged to apply. Such experience may include leading architect-engineer (A/E) firms, managing design execution, coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, and driving design quality, cost, and schedule performance through project delivery.

Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field. • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in facilities engineering, project engineering, design engineering, or design management roles supporting semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or similar industrial facility projects. Preferred Qualifications: • Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field and 4+ years of relevant industry experience. • Experience as a Design Manager, Engineering Manager, or Lead Discipline Engineer supporting semiconductor facility design and construction projects. • Demonstrated experience managing external architect-engineer (A/E) firms and coordinating multidisciplinary design deliverables from concept through construction. • Familiarity with AutoCAD, P/IDs PipeFlo (for Mechanical and Chemical Engineering candidates), ETAP/SKM and power system studies (for Electrical Engineering candidates), and BIM. • For Mechanical and Chemical Engineering candidates, experience with utility and process systems commonly used in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing facilities, including HVAC, chilled water, process cooling water, exhaust, vacuum, compressed dry air, specialty gas, chemical distribution, wastewater treatment, and related safety systems. • Working knowledge of process hazard analysis (PHA), HAZOP reviews, pressure relief and piping system design principles, equipment specification and selection, and engineering codes and standards applicable to industrial facilities. • Basic knowledge of control methods for process systems and/or electrical power distribution systems. • Registration as a Professional Engineer • Experience with: - Construction, start-up, and commissioning/turnover of facility systems - Building and fire codes, hazardous occupancies, and related codes and standards to the field of expertise - Semiconductor manufacturing facilities, cleanrooms, and related infrastructure systems.
