Summary

The Logistics Import/Export Compliance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the import and export processes to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and company policies. This role leads a team in managing documentation, coordinating with customs brokers, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of trade regulations, excellent analytical and leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

What You'll Do

  • Compliance and Regulatory Management: Ensure all import and export activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. Stay up-to-date with changes in trade regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Manage and maintain accurate records of import and export transactions, including but not limited to commercial invoices, bills of lading, and certificates of origin. Ensure proper documentation for customs clearance and regulatory compliance. Import and Export Value Reconciliations
  • Customs Broker Coordination: Coordinate with customs brokers to facilitate smooth customs clearance processes. Resolve any issues or delays in customs clearance.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Supervise a team of compliance coordinators and provide guidance on compliance procedures. Foster a culture of compliance and continuous improvement within the team. Lead trainings to enhance the knowledge and understanding of the import/export process and the documentation that is required.
  • Risk Management and Audit: Identify and mitigate potential compliance risks. Prepare for and respond to audits from regulatory agencies in coordination with relevant corporate

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree (Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or related field)
  • 5 – 7+ years in import compliance, customs brokerage, or global trade operations. Global trade compliance/operations with multi-region scope; proven leadership of audits, licensing, and carrier/forwarder programs preferred
  • Certification in customs brokerage (e.g., Certified Customs Specialist (CCS)) preferred.
  • Other relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Export Specialist (CES), Certified Import/Export Professional (CIEP)) a plus.
