About this Compliance Conduct & Whistleblower professional role at NN Group

NN Group · Onsite · Rotterdam

You believe compliance starts with people. You are fascinated by what drives behaviour, why things sometimes go wrong, and how organisations can create a culture where employees make ethical decisions and feel confident speaking up.

As part of NN's new Conduct & Whistleblower Domain, you will help shape the future of conduct risk management. You will uncover patterns behind incidents, reports and behavioural drivers, translating insights into practical improvements that strengthen our culture of integrity and speak-up environment. This role combines conduct, behavioural science, culture, data and stakeholder engagement. You will help us understand what drives behaviour, identify emerging risks and develop innovative ways to make a greater impact across NN.

What you are going to do

As a Compliance Conduct & Whistleblower Professional, you will work at the intersection of compliance, conduct and culture. You will help NN better understand what drives behaviour, identify emerging conduct risks and develop interventions that strengthen our culture of integrity and speak-up environment.

You will turn insights from behavioural science, incidents, monitoring and whistleblower reports into practical improvements that make a real difference. At the same time, you will translate laws and regulations into policies and frameworks, advise stakeholders across the organisation and help shape NN's approach to conduct risk management. Working closely with colleagues from the business, Compliance, Risk, Legal and HR, you will also explore how data, technology and AI can be used responsibly to increase our impact.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyse conduct risks and identify the underlying behavioural, cultural and environmental factors that contribute to them
  • Assess root causes of incidents and risks using conduct drivers, soft controls and insights from behavioural science
  • Translate insights from reports, incidents and investigations into effective interventions and improvement actions
  • Convert regulatory developments, internal changes and best practices into policies, standards and guidelines related to conduct and whistleblowing
  • Strengthen the organisation’s integrity and speak-up culture through training, communications and awareness initiatives
  • Support whistleblower cases and advise stakeholders on developments and risks relating to conduct, culture and integrity
  • Contribute to the design of conduct-risk monitoring and reporting and help leverage data, technology and AI to enhance Compliance effectiveness and impact

Who you are

You understand what drives behaviour and how conduct risks emerge. You have a sharp eye for identifying patterns in reports, incidents and monitoring data, and can translate those insights into meaningful interventions and lasting improvements.

You combine analytical strength with a pragmatic, can-do mentality. Whether developing policies, advising stakeholders or driving change, you know how to turn ideas into action. You build bridges across teams and disciplines, challenge constructively and inspire others to strengthen NN's culture of integrity.

In addition, you have:

  • A university degree or equivalent level of thinking and working and approximately 5 years of relevant experience in Compliance and Conduct
  • Demonstrable experience implementing or working with conduct drivers and/or soft controls
  • Experience translating laws and regulations into policies, standards, guidelines and practical implementation
  • Experience developing and delivering training, awareness programmes and communications on conduct and integrity topics
  • Experience with, or knowledge of, speak-up and whistleblower processes, for example as a case handler or advisor supporting reports and investigations
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across functions, disciplines and organisational levels
  • Experience within an insurance company or another financial institution
  • Dutch language proficiency at B2 level is considered a plus

Who you will work with

You will join the newly established Conduct & Whistleblower Domain within NN Compliance. We are a motivated and ambitious team, working together to strengthen NN’s culture of integrity and speak-up environment. As a new domain, we are still building and shaping our future.
