Overview

Bring your passion for C++ to help us develop a cross‑platform mapping API for native applications and game engines running on the latest desktop and mobile devices. You will work with the latest compilers and C++ standards and contribute to designing and developing next‑generation Esri technology.

This is an exciting opportunity to advance mapping visualization across our native rendering engine as well as Unity and Unreal Engine game engines. We are passionate about making a difference and leading the way in innovative technology development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop excellent software for use in visualization, sensor networks, street navigation, and more
  • Build C++ software components that follow industry-standard design patterns, development methodologies, documentation, and deployment models
  • Build enhancements through the C++ core component stack all the way through to the game engine plugins API/UI
  • Collaborate with other software and product engineers, and product managers throughout the development process
  • Work effectively in a small, agile scrum team environment
  • Continuously evolve your skills through study, training, and collaborating with colleagues
  • Develop unit tests for software components using test frameworks

Requirements

  • 2+ years of commercial (or equivalent scale and complexity) C++ software development experience
  • Fluent and passionate about modern C++ (11/14/17/20) and associated technologies (STL, Boost, Clang, MSVC)
  • Object oriented design skills
  • Understanding of algorithms and design patterns
  • Ability to work closely with the team to build quality software in a constantly evolving environment
  • Effective time management, organizational and writing skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, mapping, GIS, or related field
  • Existing work authorization for Spain

Recommended Qualifications

  • Experience with IDEs, compilers, and development tools for Linux, Windows, macOS , iOS, or Android
  • Knowledge of 3D graphics, especially Unity or Unreal Engine
  • Familiarity with GIS applications, technologies or concepts
  • Proficiency with OpenGL, DirectX, Vulkan, or Metal
  • Experience in complementary design approaches such as Value-based, Data-Oriented, Multithreading, Parallelisation, Functional or Compile-time
  • Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or related field
