The team you will be joining is a Business Analysis group within State Street Global Technology Services (GTS). GTS is a key enabler of State Street’s business strategy, delivering technology solutions and insights that support our business lines and clients globally.

Working across business, operations, and technology teams, the group drives strategic initiatives, platform enhancements, process optimization, and technology transformation.

As a Business Systems Analyst, you will serve as a key link between business stakeholders and technology teams, translating business needs into scalable solutions and ensuring successful delivery throughout the project lifecycle. This role offers broad exposure to financial services, business operations, and enterprise technology, while providing opportunities to make a meaningful impact across global initiatives.

What you will be responsible for

As a Business Systems Analyst, Assistant Vice President, you will:

• Partner with external clients and internal business users to understand business objectives, challenges, and user needs.
• Lead the analysis of complex business workflows, data flows, operating models, system interactions, and end-to-end business scenarios.
• Evaluate existing processes and systems, identify gaps and improvement opportunities, and help define practical and scalable future-state solutions.
• Translate business needs into clear, complete, and actionable requirements for technology teams.
• Produce and maintain high-quality business analysis artifacts, including business and functional requirements, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, wireframes, data mappings, traceability documentation, and user guides.
• Facilitate requirement-gathering workshops, solution discussions, walkthroughs, and stakeholder review sessions.
• Work closely with development, architecture, testing, operations, and production support teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in Agile delivery teams as a Business Analyst or Product Owner, depending on project needs.
• Support solution validation, testing, implementation, user readiness, and post-production activities to ensure delivered solutions meet agreed business requirements.
• Identify, assess, resolve, or escalate risks, issues, dependencies, and requirement gaps throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Communicate project status, decisions, risks, and required actions clearly to business and technology stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with global business and technology partners by communicating effectively in both business and technical language.
• Manage multiple priorities and provide business analysis leadership across concurrent initiatives.
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of business analysis standards, practices, templates, and governance.
• Coach and mentor junior Business Analysts, provide guidance and quality reviews, and act as a role model for the wider team.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline.
• 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Product Owner, or in a similar role within financial services, software development, data, or technology delivery.
• Demonstrated experience leading business analysis activities for complex, cross-functional, or global initiatives.
• Experience working directly with business users, clients, technology teams, and senior stakeholders.
• Experience producing functional requirements, process models, user stories, acceptance criteria, data mappings, and other business analysis deliverables.

Experience in any of the following areas is highly desirable:

• Financial products, investment servicing, asset management, banking, or capital markets.
• Agile delivery tools and practices, such as Jira, backlog management, sprint planning, and story refinement.
• CFA qualification or successful completion of the CFA Level I examination.
