Job Description:

Position Salary Range: $61,400-$75,000 to commensurate with experience

Essential Duties:

  • Support implementation of the go-to-market strategy for Executive Education growth by helping identify, research, qualify, and close prospective corporate and organizational partners.
  • Maintain and update pipeline information, client records, outreach activity, and next steps in the CRM to support accurate forecasting and follow-up.
  • Participate in discovery and scoping conversations with prospective clients, document client needs, business challenges, audience profiles, timelines, and decision criteria.
  • Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, briefing materials, and follow-up communications in partnership with the Senior Business Development Director, faculty, and program teams.
  • Coordinate internal handoffs from business development to program delivery teams, helping ensure client requirements, timelines, and expectations are clearly documented.
  • Support client relationship stewardship through regular follow-up, meeting preparation, post-program check-ins, and identification of renewal or expansion opportunities.
  • Conduct market, industry, and client research to inform outreach priorities, offering development, and partnership opportunities.
  • Develop a working understanding of the solutions that the W. P. Carey School of Business and ASU can deliver through Executive Education and related programs.
  • Assist with tracking and reporting business development activity, pipeline status, portfolio impact, and related financial information.
  • Represent Executive Education professionally in meetings, campus events, local business forums, and occasional client site visits or industry events.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of business development processes, templates, client communications, and internal coordination practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned as the Executive Education line of business grows.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Evidence of a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, public administration, education, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in business development, sales support, client relationship management, corporate relations, account coordination, program coordination, marketing, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in corporate education, professional development, workforce development, business school programming, or university-industry partnerships.
  • Experience supporting prospect research, lead qualification, client outreach, meeting preparation, or proposal development.
  • Experience using a CRM, spreadsheet, or project-management tool to track activity, deadlines, contacts, and follow-up items.
  • Knowledge of basic business development, marketing, customer service, and relationship management concepts.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders in writing, in meetings, and in presentations.
  • Ability to organize multiple priorities, meet deadlines, follow through on details, and adapt as priorities change.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, program staff, administrative teams, and external partners in a complex organization.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, sound judgment, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, CRM systems, and virtual meeting tools.
  • Interest in learning about the global business environment, executive education trends, and W. P. Carey/ASU offerings.
  • Willingness to travel locally and occasionally nationally for client meetings, events, and partnership development activities.
  • Positive attitude, professionalism, curiosity, initiative, honesty, trustworthiness, and strong interpersonal skills.

Working Environment:

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • May be required to perform tasks in the field within and/or across University campuses.
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions.
