Pay Range

£31,000 to £35,000

Working Hours/Pattern:

Full-time, although we would be happy to consider applicants who are looking to work on a part-time basis. If you would like to explore this further, please discuss this with the talent partner for this role. Please note our ability to accommodate flexible working arrangements will vary from role to role, dependent on business requirements.

What is the role about?

The Business Development Executive role is responsible for creating and identifying new business opportunities within the local area by developing strong working relationships with employers and bringing on board new employment opportunities for our participants on the Connect 2 Work Scheme. The role requires you to work with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal & external, who will all have differing priorities. As the Business Development Executive role, you’ll be required to work alongside them to achieve the common goal.

Just some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Taking Ownership

  • Identifying new business opportunities and winning new clients
  • Planning and conducting events such as jobs fairs and employer days
  • Post-placement support and account management
  • Meeting and exceeding performance targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

 

Being Fair, Open, and Honest

  • Promoting the Connect 2 Work Scheme within the community, raising awareness of its benefits and impact

Working Together

  • Maximising the repeating business opportunities through building and maintaining relationships with employers
  • Working closely with other teams including Employment Specialist and Engagement Officers to progress participants into work
  • Engaging with participants and collaborating with the Engagement Officers to gain referrals into the scheme

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with:

  • A successful track record of working in a sales environment, an account management or business development role (both face to face presenting and telephone sales experience).
  • Demonstrable experience of working to targets.
  • A willingness to travel locally (e.g., to meet customers/employers) with good knowledge of local labour market.
  • A minimum of 2 A-Levels or an equivalent Level 3 Diploma.
  • GCSE English Language at a minimum of a Grade B (or equivalent Level 2 qualification). OR achievement of a Level 2 in Literacy Assessment at interview stage OR International Equivalents.

 Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of working in recruitment, publicly funded services, or other similar sectors
  • Experience of working in a customer facing environment (i.e., Customer Services, Hospitality, Social Care, Customer Services)
  • Interest in people and willingness to go the extra mile.
  • Interest in career and personal development
  • Fluency in more than one language
