Purpose of the role

• Provide professional trading services to all clients, develop and maintain business with the existing and new clients by partnering with sales to achieve the Bank’s revenue target.

• Execute for the best interests of the Bank and its clients.

• Perform any ad-hoc tasks assigned by management.

Job Responsibilities:

• Complete the set-up of bond trading desk and lead the overall bond business of MUFG Seoul branch in the long term

• Take active trading positions in KTB, MSB and other Korean won bonds

• Generate PnL through various trading strategies across the KRW curve

• Manage risk exposures within approved limits, with a strong focus on drawdown control

• Identify and execute proprietary trading opportunities based on macro views and flow dynamics

• Monitor macroeconomic developments, central bank policy and local market issues

• Collaborate with Sales and regional trading teams while maintaining a primary focus on trading performance

• Ensure strict adherence to internal risk controls, compliance standards, and governance frameworks

• Balance the risk and opportunities to meet individual target, manage own trading position, aligning with MUFG value, provide good service/pricing to clients and make use of the flow to generate revenue for the Bank.

• Demonstrate professionalism and maintain respectful and collaborative environment with colleagues and stakeholders

• Maintain good working knowledge of industry trends, products, relevant laws and regulations

Job Requirements:

• Up to 7 years of experience in Korean bond trading with demonstrable PnL track record

• Strong understanding of Korean bond markets, curve dynamics and relative value trading

• Proven ability to take and manage risk in a disciplined and controlled manner

• Strong analytical skills with a clear trading framework and market view formation

• Strong team player with a collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across functions

• Effective communication skills in Korean and English

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field

• Experience in proprietary or risk-taking roles within banks or securities firms

• Hands-on experience managing Bond FRA positions
