What You’ll Be Part Of
The role is responsible for supporting Travel & Entertainment (T&E) transaction processing, auditing employee expense reports, and performing accounting activities in SAP. The position will ensure timely and accurate payment processing for HARMAN entities globally. The resource will work closely with Finance leaders and business stakeholders to ensure accurate accounting, reporting, and period-end closing activities, aligned with HARMAN’s current and future business requirements. Additionally, the position will support the Finance Manager in managing day-to-day people and process operations across Corporate Travel Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Disbursements functions.
How You’ll Make An Impact
Review and complete daily Corporate Travel & Entertainment (T&E) and P-Card activities, including expense report auditing, accounting, and payment processing.
Perform T&E/P-Card reconciliations and ensure accurate accounting and General Ledger (GL) postings.
Validate receipts, business purpose, cost centers, GL accounts, tax information, and supporting documentation, while maintaining process trackers.
Ensure timely and accurate SAP postings, including monthly accruals/provisions where applicable.
Coordinate with cardholders and business stakeholders to resolve exceptions, obtain missing documentation, and ensure timely closure of open items.
Support month-end closing activities, including accruals, reclassifications, and account reconciliations, while ensuring compliance with timelines and operational KPIs.
Collaborate with global Finance teams and HARMAN business units to address audit requests, resolve ad hoc issues, and ensure smooth and accurate execution of T&E, P-Card, and related accounting processes.
What Makes You A Strong Fit
3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably across core accounting and shared services environments.
Hands-on experience in SAP journal entry processing; exposure to SAP S/4HANA is an added advantage.
Strong understanding of General Accounting principles, processes, and practices.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and team members.
Strong attention to detail, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve issues effectively.
We see AI as an important part of how work gets done. While tools may vary, a baseline familiarity with using AI to support efficiency, problem-solving, and quality is expected.
Bonus Points if You Have
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or higher accounting qualification will be an added advantage.
Strong functional understanding of key Finance areas, including Accounts Payable, Travel & Expense, Disbursements, General Accounting, and Financial Reporting.
Sound knowledge of accounting principles, with a good understanding of US GAAP and IFRS.
Certification or specialized training in Expense Audit, Accounts Payable, or Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes is preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office, with strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Excel.
Things To Know
This role is based in Bangalore, India, and follows a hybrid work model with regular in-office collaboration with Corporate Finance, Controlling, Tax, and FP&A teams.
The position supports global product launch timelines and may require occasional early morning or evening meetings with teams across Europe and the US.
Occasional domestic and international travel may be required for customer visits, manufacturing locations, and product launch meetings.
Professional working proficiency in English is required for effective day-to-day communication with employees and stakeholders across the US and Europe.
