Your Role at impact.com:
The Associate Manager (Statutory reporting, Acquisitions & Tax) is responsible for ensuring global statutory compliance across multiple legal entities, managing the financial reporting and operational oversight of newly acquired businesses until full integration. The role also oversees direct and indirect tax accounting and compliance, transfer pricing governance, and works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent application of accounting policies, financial controls and reporting standards.
The role requires strong technical accounting expertise, project management capabilities and the ability to collaborate across global finance, legal, tax and operational teams.
What You'll Do:
Statutory Financial Reporting
- Prepare and oversee statutory statements in accordance with the appropriate financial reporting standards.
- Manage annual statutory audits across multiple jurisdictions.
- Coordinate with external auditors and local finance teams to ensure timely completion of audits.
- Ensure compliance with local statutory filing requirements and reporting deadlines.
- Monitor changes in accounting standards and statutory regulations, implementing necessary process updates.
- Maintain statutory reporting calendars and compliance trackers within FloQast.
- Entity Rationalization & Risk Mitigation: Lead the identification, dissolution, and streamlining of redundant or inactive corporate entities to minimize legal liabilities, regulatory compliance penalties, driving cost efficiencies and simplifying corporate structures for the business.
Acquired Entity Financial Management and Finance Integration Leadership
- Assume financial ownership of newly acquired entities until they are fully integrated into the company’s financial organisation (Where applicable)
- Manage month-end close activities for acquired businesses.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Corporate accounting policies.
- Identify financial reporting risks and implement appropriate controls.
- Support acquisition accounting (Where applicable)
- Act as the primary point of contact for acquired entities during the transition period.
- Lead finance integration projects for newly acquired entities
- Develop and execute finance integration plans.
- Coordinate cross-functional integration activities with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, IT, HR and Financial operations.
- Track integration milestones and communicate project status to leadership.
- Drive process standardization across acquired entities.
Tax Accounting and Compliance
- Oversee corporate income tax accounting with the Tax operational team.
- Manage VAT/GST/Sales Tax accounting and submissions with the Tax operational team.
- Coordinate tax provision calculations with external advisors.
- Ensure timely submission of all tax returns (where applicable)
- Ensure compliance with global transfer pricing policies.
- Review intercompany transactions for compliance with transfer pricing regulations.
- Support implementation of transfer pricing adjustments.
- Assist with transfer pricing audits and information requests.
- Work closely with the Tax team and external advisors to ensure accurate transfer pricing accounting and compliance.
Financial Controls & Governance
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and processes.
- Strengthen financial processes and identify opportunities for automation.
- Review accounting policies and ensure consistent application across entities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within Corporate Accounting.
The above duties are an overview of the areas that the role requires, however the role is not limited to the above and requires the individual to assist with any adhoc duties assigned by the Company.
What You Have:
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Accounting
- CA(SA), CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
Experience and Core Competencies
- 3+ years' post articles experience in Accounting or Financial Reporting (CA(SA))
- Strong statutory reporting experience across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience managing audits with external auditors.
- Experience managing teams.
- Experience integrating acquired businesses into corporate finance operations.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and local statutory reporting requirements.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP advantageous
- Experience with corporate taxation.
- ERP implementation or integration experience (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Workday, etc.) advantageous.
- Experience within a multinational or high-growth organisation is advantageous.
