Job Description & Summary

The Digital Audit Associate supports the delivery of digital audit engagements as part of the Assurance practice. The role involves assessing technology-related risks and controls within client environments, including applications, infrastructure, cloud platforms, and business processes.

The Associate will work closely with engagement teams to document systems and processes, perform control testing, analyse findings, and prepare audit documentation in accordance with firm methodologies and professional standards. This role provides exposure to a broad range of industries, technologies and audit approaches, and offers opportunities to develop technical, business, and professional skills.

Key Responsibilities 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

  • Support the execution of digital audit engagements for clients across a range of industries. 

  • Assist in obtaining an understanding of client business processes, IT environments, systems and relevant control frameworks. 

  • Document process flows, system landscapes and control activities accurately and clearly. 

  • Perform risk assessments to identify relevant technology and business process risks. 

  • Execute testing of IT General Controls (“ITGCs”), automated controls, application controls and other technology-related controls in accordance with engagement requirements. 

  • Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of controls and identify exceptions or control deficiencies. 

  • Prepare audit working papers and supporting documentation in a timely and accurate manner, in line with firm standards. 

  • Assist in summarising findings, drafting observations and communicating issues to engagement team members. 

  • Analyse data and information using approved tools, audit methodologies and analytical techniques. 

  • Work collaboratively with engagement teams, including financial audit teams and technology specialists, to support audit objectives. 

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and client personnel. 

  • Comply with the firm’s risk management, independence, confidentiality and quality requirements. 

  • Maintain awareness of current developments in technology, digital risk and audit practices. 

  • Demonstrate professional conduct and uphold the firm’s code of ethics and business conduct. 

Requirements 

Candidates should meet the following minimum requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or other related disciplines. 

  • Candidates from other academic backgrounds may be considered if they demonstrate a strong interest in technology, digital risk and audit. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with good attention to detail. 

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English. 

  • Ability to work effectively in teams and build positive working relationships with colleagues and clients. 

  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, professional environment. 

  • Basic understanding of business processes, information systems or internal controls would be advantageous. 

 

Preferred Skills 

The following attributes and skills would be beneficial: 

  • Interest in emerging technologies, digital transformation and technology risk management. 

  • Exposure through coursework, internships or projects in areas such as IT audit, cybersecurity, ERP systems, data analytics, cloud computing or internal controls. 

  • Ability to organise and manage multiple tasks within agreed timelines. 

  • Confidence in documenting issues clearly and escalating matters appropriately. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint. 

  • Familiarity with data analysis tools, audit tools or enterprise systems would be an added advantage.
