More about the role:

Burson is seeking a creative storyteller who understands how powerful ideas move through culture, spark engagement, and drive meaningful action. Whether at the Associate Creative Director or Senior Copywriter level, you'll bring deep experience partnering with pharmaceutical and healthcare clients, translating complex science, data, and healthcare topics into compelling, audience-centric narratives for both healthcare professionals and consumers. You'll thrive in a fast-paced, integrated environment where collaboration, curiosity, and adaptability are essential, and where creative ideas come to life across multiple channels and formats. From crafting attention-grabbing social content and persuasive pitch narratives to developing engaging video scripts and campaign concepts, you'll be equally comfortable thinking strategically and executing at a high level. We're looking for someone who is passionate about elevating creative excellence, enjoys working alongside multidisciplinary teams, and, for those in leadership roles, is energized by mentoring and developing junior talent while helping shape the next generation of creative thinkers.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as the day‑to‑day creative across integrated healthcare programs, guiding teams to develop concepts and ideas that earn attention, spark conversation, and solve client challenges in culturally relevant ways.
  • Partner closely with Digital, and Account teams to shape and refine creative briefs grounded in audience, media, and cultural intelligence, including briefs for healthcare and pharma clients, across both HCP and DTC audiences.
  • Collaborate with your art/creative partner to drive work that ladders up to a unifying earned‑first “big idea” across PR, social, digital, experiential, influencer, and content.
  • Develop breakthrough, earned-ready ideas and narratives that journalists, creators, and communities want to engage with while navigating medical, legal, and regulatory considerations.
  • Oversee copy development across social content, scripts, thought leadership, brand storytelling, and pitch decks.
  • Lead production across content, social storytelling, video, experiential activations, and integrated campaigns, managing budgets and identifying opportunities to elevate the work.
  • Build strong client partnerships, identifying ways to extend ideas, pitch new opportunities, and drive proactive creativity.
  • Confidently present work that connects business, brand, and reputation objectives to culturally relevant creative approaches.
  • Oversee multiple projects often across different brands and therapeutic areas while ensuring the team meets deadlines and delivers consistently strong work.
  • Act as a mentor and coach to junior and mid‑level creatives, offering guidance, feedback, and opportunities that help them grow.

Experience that contributes to success:

  • 5–7 years of creative experience, including 3–5 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
  • A proven ability to generate strategic, earned-first ideas that break through in culture.
  • Strong writing skills across social content, pitch decks, scripts, PR activations, campaign platforms, and long‑form storytelling.
  • Experience concepting and delivering short‑ and long‑form video content.
  • Demonstrated experience working with pharma/healthcare clients, including navigating MLR processes and shaping work for both HCP and DTC audiences.
  • Strong collaboration skills across Account, Strategy, Social, Influencer, Digital, Production, and Corporate/Issues teams.
  • Confident and persuasive presentation skills with the ability to guide nuanced client discussions.
  • A portfolio showcasing conceptual thinking, integrated creative work, and samples of social copy, pitch decks, video storytelling, and healthcare/pharma content.
  • A collaborative, positive team player who can jump in wherever needed.
  • A culturally aware thinker with a finger on the pulse of trends, conversation, and the evolving media and healthcare landscape.
  • Bonus: You appreciate humor and help keep teams inspired.
