Adequate computer programming skills and statistical computing knowledge for modern-day statistical needs are important. It is highly desirable that the candidate possesses collaborative research experience and evidence of potential for external funding. Ideally, the candidate’s research area should complement the department’s existing areas of expertise in time series, spatial/spatio-temporal data, functional data, bioinformatics, clinical trials, and sequential/multistage designs for statistical inference.
