We’re looking for an Asphalt Paving Manager to lead the delivery of our asphalt programme across Central Otago. Paving is a key part of our business, and with a strong pipeline of work ahead this is an opportunity to make your mark and continue to shape and grow the department.

Backed by strong regional support and supported by national expertise, you’ll lead established teams across paving, milling and hand-lay operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll take ownership to lead planning and delivery of asphalt paving works safely, on time, within budget, and to the standard our customers expect. You could be working across one major project or a mix of smaller jobs, coordinating site crews, plant, subcontractors, and day-to-day delivery.

• Lead the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of paving works across your department.
• Manage pricing, tenders, quotes, estimates, programmes, and change control across projects and subcontractor agreements.
• Plan ahead and coordinate people, plant, materials, survey, and subcontractor resources to keep work moving.
• Build strong relationships with customers, crews, and key stakeholders while providing clear leadership and support to your team.
• Champion health, safety, environmental, quality, productivity, and commercial performance, and push pause when something isn’t right.
  

Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with

• BE, NZCE, diploma-level engineering qualification, or significant relevant industry experience.
• At least 5 years’ relevant experience in paving, civil construction, or a similar operational environment.
• Experience leading teams, developing people, and getting the best out of others through clear, practical leadership.
• Strong commercial and operational nous, with the ability to manage risk, plan ahead, and deliver to programme and budget.
• A current Class 1 driver licence, relevant safety knowledge or certification, and a genuine commitment to safety, quality, and doing the right thing.
