About this Application Security Engineer - Sr role at Accenture Federal Services
Who you'll be:
We are seeking a dedicated Application Security Engineer to provide specialized security engineering and sustainment support for our Agency's application systems. The role involves securing applications throughout their lifecycle, integrating ML and AI into our security tools, and ensuring compliance with Federal Security Logging mandates. This position requires a TS/SCI clearance to support programs with elevated access.
What you'll do:
- Administer, configure, maintain, tune, and secure application systems to avoid unnecessary POA&Ms and risks; create and maintain application tuning and O&M SOPs.
- Operate and maintain mandated applications and emerging technologies under Agency's SOC control, providing complete software lifecycle management.
- Support ISSOs during the Agency's ATO/ATT process, ensuring all necessary documentation and information are available.
- Develop, deploy, and integrate ML and AI into the Agency's security tool suite.
- Perform weekly security impact assessments for applications and assist with vendor product evaluations and impact analysis for new software/products.
- Ensure continuous monitoring of all CSD-managed applications with alerting for critical incidents and daily status reporting.
- Manage application configuration items under the agency CM tool, supporting Change Management policy compliance for maintaining, testing, and deploying application components.
- Ensure application systems comply with Federal Security Logging mandates, tuning logging for efficiency, and support the CSD Service Desk in vulnerability identification and remediation.
What you need:
- 7 years of experience in system administration, database administration, network engineering, software engineering, or software development with a concentration in Cyber Security; or, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field, 3 years of such experience.
- TS/SCI clearance due to elevated-access programs.

- CompTIA Security+ certification
- AWS Certified Security – Specialty certification
As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
