What You Will Get to Do

Lead Application Engineering & Technical Service

• Lead and develop Application Engineering and Technical Service resources, creating a collaborative and high-performing technical organization.
• Establish structured, repeatable approaches for customer investigations, testing, root-cause analysis, and solution development.
• Coordinate technical expertise across Dymax and the broader organization to deliver consistent and effective customer solutions.
• Set clear expectations, assign priorities, and ensure resources are aligned with customer and business needs.

Develop Strong Technical Solutions

• Guide engineers in evaluating applications, troubleshooting technical challenges, and developing clear, defensible recommendations.
• Strengthen laboratory practices through disciplined scientific methods, experimentation, documentation, and analysis.
• Review technical findings and recommendations to ensure conclusions are supported by appropriate testing and sound technical judgment.
• Identify opportunities to standardize successful application methodologies so they can be adopted across regional and global technical teams.

Build and Develop a High-Performing Team

• Recruit, coach, develop, and performance manage Application Engineering and Technical Service team members.
• Build technical capability through hands-on coaching, knowledge sharing, training, and clear performance expectations.
• Foster a culture of curiosity, accountability, collaboration, technical rigor, and continuous improvement.
• Help team members strengthen their ability to translate technical findings into meaningful recommendations for customers and internal stakeholders.

Partner With Customers & Commercial Teams

• Partner with customers, Territory Sales Managers, and channel partners on application design, product evaluation, troubleshooting, and validation testing.
• Support new and existing business opportunities by connecting customer application requirements with Dymax products and technical capabilities.
• Communicate investigation findings, recommendations, risks, and solution alternatives clearly to Sales, Customer Service, R&D, Product Management, Production, and Quality.
• Identify opportunities where technical engagement can expand product utilization, strengthen customer relationships, and support commercial growth.

Expand Technical Knowledge & Capabilities

• Develop and deliver technical training for internal teams, Sales Managers, channel partners, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Strengthen awareness and understanding of Dymax products, application capabilities, dispensing technologies, and curing equipment.
• Monitor industry trends, competitor technologies, and evolving customer applications to identify emerging technical needs and opportunities.
• Use market and customer insights to continuously improve technical guidance, laboratory capabilities, and solution strategies.

Maintain Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure laboratory and application engineering activities follow established scientific, environmental, legal, safety, and compliance requirements.
• Reinforce accurate documentation, responsible laboratory practices, and consistent technical standards.
• Maintain a strong focus on quality while balancing responsiveness to customer and business needs.

• Root-cause investigations and laboratory testing follow consistent, disciplined, and repeatable methodologies.

Requirements

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading technical teams within laboratory, technical service, or application engineering environments.
• 5+ years of experience working with adhesives and coatings is preferred.
• Strong understanding of laboratory best practices, scientific investigation, root-cause analysis, and technical problem solving.
• Experience with dispensing and curing equipment and the ability to develop or deliver technical training.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and develop technical professionals while setting clear expectations and driving accountability.
• Strong customer orientation with the ability to translate complex technical findings into practical recommendations.
• Ability to collaborate and influence across Sales, R&D, Product Management, Quality, Production, Customer Service, and other functions.
• Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills with close attention to detail and a commitment to continuous learning.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and laboratory-related systems.
• Experience working with ERP systems; JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (JD-E1) experience is especially helpful.

Salary: $106,000-$153,000

Dymax takes the compensation of its employees very seriously and considers several factors when determining the total compensation package including but not limited to location, market range, skills, knowledge, experience, and abilities. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Dymax salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range. The range listed is just one component of Dymax’s total compensation packages for employees.
