Job Summary

We are looking for a Systems Analyst to support and maintain our enterprise VMware, Windows and Linux infrastructure. The role covers day-to-day administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, VM lifecycle management, patching, security remediation and script-based automation, working within established change and incident management processes. This is a hands-on role for someone with around four years of infrastructure experience who wants to deepen their skills in virtualization, automation and hybrid cloud.

 

Role Details

·       Experience: 3–5 years (approximately 4 years) in infrastructure or systems administration.

·       Department: IT Infrastructure Operations.

·       Reports To: Infrastructure Operations Manager.

·       Employment Type: Full-time.

Key Responsibilities

·       Administer VMware vSphere environments, including vCenter, ESXi hosts, clusters, datastores and virtual machines.

·       Perform daily infrastructure health checks, monitor performance and capacity, and resolve alerts and tickets in ServiceNow.

·       Handle VM lifecycle tasks: provisioning, cloning, templates, snapshots, migrations, resource changes and decommissioning.

·       Troubleshoot common issues across ESXi hosts, HA/DRS clusters, vSphere networking (vSwitch/vDS, VLANs) and storage (SAN/NAS).

·       Carry out ESXi and vCenter patching, upgrades, firmware updates and certificate renewals under senior guidance.

·       Support Windows and Linux server administration, including builds, patching and basic performance troubleshooting.

·       Write and maintain PowerCLI/PowerShell scripts to automate routine tasks such as health checks, inventory and reporting.

·       Support vulnerability remediation and compliance activities for the virtual infrastructure.

·       Support Cisco UCS / Intersight hardware operations and lifecycle activities.

·       Create and update documentation, including SOPs, runbooks and knowledge base articles.

·       Participate in the on-call rotation and occasional after-hours maintenance windows.

·       Collaborate with storage, networking, security and application teams to deliver reliable services to end users.

Required Skills

·       Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere (vCenter, ESXi, HA, DRS and vMotion).

·       PowerCLI and/or PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting.

·       Windows Server and Linux (RHEL or similar) administration.

·       Understanding of networking fundamentals (VLANs, Layer 2/3, server NIC configuration).

·       Understanding of storage fundamentals (SAN, NAS, RAID, datastores).

·       Experience with ServiceNow or a similar ITSM tool, and working knowledge of ITIL incident, change and problem processes.

Preferred Skills

·       VMware Aria Automation (vRA) and VMware Aria Operations (vROps).

·       Cisco UCS Manager and Cisco Intersight.

·       Exposure to configuration management or IaC tools such as Ansible or Terraform.

·       Exposure to public cloud (AWS or Azure) or container platforms (Kubernetes / OpenShift).

·       Backup and disaster recovery concepts for virtual environments.

Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

·       3–5 years of experience administering virtualized and Windows/Linux server environments.

·       Certifications such as VMware VCP-DCV or ITIL Foundation are an advantage.

Soft Skills

·       Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

·       Clear written and verbal communication, including good documentation habits.

·       Ownership and accountability for assigned systems and tasks.

·       Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
