Are you finishing university or have you already gained your first few years of professional experience? Are you wondering where to best kick-start your career? Do you have a passion for technology, a sharp mind, and the drive to move things forward?
At ABB, we are launching a new AI Transformation Trainee Program. We are looking for exceptional talents who are not afraid of change and want to be drivers of innovation. Over the course of 12–18 months, you will gain hands-on experience across the business, understand our processes in depth – and most importantly, identify where and how AI can help improve them.
Your mindset? A combination of an entrepreneur, sharp analyst, and technology enthusiast. Your tools are curiosity, logic, AI, and good common sense. Your goal is to bring concrete ideas on how artificial intelligence can increase our efficiency and flexibility.
What You Can Expect:
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of how our business operates – from order intake to delivery and service
- Shadow key departments (Sales, Project Management, Manufacturing, Planning, Procurement, …) and identify their pain points
- Identify real-world AI use cases – areas where AI can make processes faster, more accurate, or simpler
- Work together with AI experts to evaluate the potential of your ideas and contribute to their development and implementation
- Have the opportunity to travel abroad, experience different cultures, and learn from different approaches

Who We’re Looking For:
- You are in your final year of university or have a maximum of 3 years of professional experience, ideally in a field such as Business Informatics, Systems Engineering, Data & AI, Economics & Management, or a related discipline
- You are interested in AI and its practical applications – perhaps you already have your own mini-project, or you have simply been experimenting with ChatGPT
- You think systematically, have strong analytical skills, and are not afraid to tackle challenges head-on
- You are self-motivated and independent, but also know how to engage and influence others – communication comes naturally to you
- You are comfortable communicating in English in an international environment
