Help us Build our AI Enablement Team

We're not just hiring — we're inviting you to build the future. If you're curious, driven, and ready to leave your mark, this is your invitation to explore an AI role with us.

The Financial Ombudsman Service is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that plays a vital role in UK financial services. Every day we help resolve disputes between consumers, or small businesses, and their financial service providers.

Artificial Intelligence is no longer just a technology project for us. It is becoming a fundamental part of how our organisation operates, serves our customers, develops our colleagues and delivers strategic impact.

As we accelerate our AI ambitions, we are expanding our organisational AI capability, and we are looking for exceptional people to join us.

This is not a traditional recruitment campaign.

We are not starting with a fixed organisational design, a list of pre-defined roles, or assumptions about where the best talent sits. Instead, we are looking for individuals who can help us unlock and embed the full potential of AI across our organisation.

So, whether your expertise is in AI strategy, delivery, transformation, governance, technology, learning, communications, change management, operations, process improvement or adoption, we want to hear from you.

What We're Building:

We are creating a multidisciplinary AI Enablement Team focused on turning organisational needs and AI opportunities into practical solutions, measurable benefits and sustainable ways of working.

The ambition is to:

  • Shape and execute our AI strategy.
  • Develop and deliver an AI roadmap that creates measurable outcomes.
  • Extract value from licenced and ‘off the shelf’ AI tools
  • Improve operational processes and ways of working.
  • Increase organisational AI fluency and confidence.
  • Support colleagues to adopt AI safely and effectively.
  • Transform services through smarter systems and automation.
  • Ensure responsible, ethical and governed use of AI.
  • Identify, develop and scale high-value AI use cases.
  • Build organisational capability that enables continuous innovation.

Who We Are Looking For

We believe realising benefit from AI requires a diverse mix of skills, experiences and perspectives. Rather than fitting into a pre-determined role, your experience and skillset will help us define what our future AI Enablement Team becomes.

You may bring expertise in one or more of these areas:

  • Strategy: shaping AI direction, roadmaps and priorities.
  • Delivery: turning ideas into scalable solutions and measurable outcomes.
  • Operations: improving processes, customer journeys and ways of working.
  • Adoption: building AI confidence through learning, engagement and change.
  • Assurance: enabling responsible, ethical and well-governed AI.
  • Capability: creating practical AI tools, services, standards and sustainable practices.

What Matters Most

More than your current job title, we are interested in:

  • Your curiosity and learning agility.
  • How you’ve improved outcomes through technology.
  • Your demonstrable ability to influence and collaborate across all levels including executive.
  • Evidence of driving meaningful adoption and change.
  • Your ability to focus on practical business impact when it comes to new ways of working.

If you have relevant experience and/or skills that you believe are suitable – we welcome applicants from a broad range of backgrounds.
