Our organization is dedicated to solving fundamental business challenges for corporate clients through the implementation and practical use of AI.

We take an end-to-end approach, covering AI product and service planning, value proposition and specification design, sales model development, operational design, and business feasibility assessment.

By working closely with internal stakeholders across development, sales, legal, and security, we drive both the launch and expansion of new services. A key attraction of this position is the opportunity to lead the commercialization of AI services for enterprise clients by leveraging Rakuten Group’s business assets and customer touchpoints.

In this role, you will be expected to identify market opportunities and customer challenges, align cross-functional stakeholders, and turn services into reality.

Position Details

Service Design (commercializing AI products)

- Plan new AI services and improve existing services

- Define service specifications and requirements, including functional and non-functional requirements, security, and operational requirements

- Analyze market trends, competitors, and customer needs, and clarify positioning

- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including sales, development, legal, and vendors

- Evaluate business feasibility, including P/L projections and cost-effectiveness

- Design operational workflows for implementation, support, incident handling, and continuous improvement cycles

Business Design (building GTM and sales mechanisms)

- Design and manage KPIs, and standardize and improve sales processes

- Join proposals for initial customers and develop case studies

- Plan and execute promotional initiatives

- Design pricing and packaging and define sales terms and conditions

- Prepare proposal templates and strengthen sales enablement materials

Work Environment

The team currently consists of just under 20 members, covering functions such as sales, customer enablement, business development, and product management.

Each member plays a broad role in driving business growth, and the organization is expected to continue expanding in line with the growth of the corporate AI business.

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Experience in IT-related planning roles (approx. 3+ years)

- Experience in business development, sales planning, or B2B solution sales

- Experience in driving projects by engaging and leading multiple stakeholders

- Fundamental understanding of AI

- TOEIC score of 600 or higher

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience in planning AI-based products/services (including Generative AI)

- Experience in B2B SaaS product planning, pricing strategy, and the design of contracts/terms of service and operational workflows

- Experience in launching services through external partnerships or alliances

- Language skills: Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English

Desired candidate profile

Able to build hypotheses, validate them, and structure complex issues into solvable problems

Able to lead alignment and consensus-building with persistence

Able to continuously learn in the rapidly evolving AI field and create repeatable business models for commercialization
