About this Advanced Clinical Technician - Nursing & Midwifery role at University of Queensland
Full-time, continuing position commencing ASAP!
Base salary will range from $85,452 to $94,984 (HEW Level 5) + 17% Super
Primarily based at Mater Misericordiae Hospital in South Brisbane however work will be required across multiple locations
About This Opportunity
Join a purposeful and collaborative clinical education environment where your expertise will help nursing and midwifery students build confidence, strengthen practical skills and prepare for clinical assessment. As an Advanced Clinical Technician, you will support students, clinical lecturers and course coordinators across multiple Brisbane teaching hospital locations, helping to maintain safe, well-equipped and inclusive simulated learning spaces where people can work together to create meaningful change.
Key responsibilities will include:
Prepare and support the delivery of Clinical Skills sessions and assist students to master specific clinical skills during self-directed learning.
Liaise with clinical units, clinical lecturers, course coordinators and company representatives to coordinate learning activities, equipment demonstrations and quotations.
Provide targeted remedial support to nursing and midwifery students identified as requiring additional assistance
Maintain clinical equipment and consumables, while guiding others in appropriate equipment-cleaning practices.
Contribute to stocktakes, workplace inspections, facilities requests and the review of equipment procedures.
About You
Completion of an undergraduate degree, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training.
Experience in clinical health care environment highly desirable.
Demonstrated experience maintaining and using medical equipment.
Knowledge of nursing and midwifery equipment and medical supplies, or the ability to rapidly develop this knowledge.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and deliver a high level of customer service.
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated experience liaising effectively with people at all levels of an organisation.
The ability to work collaboratively, build effective relationships and adapt constructively to changing priorities.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and experience with online ordering systems, or the capacity to quickly develop these skills.
