ACCOUNTS PAYABLE ACCOUNTANT

 

CHANEL is seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable Accountant to join the BENSCA Finance team, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and payments while maintaining compliance with company policies, internal controls, and procurement procedures across Scandinavia and Benelux region.


The role acts as a key point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders, supporting invoice resolution, payment execution, vendor master data maintenance, and continuous process improvement within the procure-to-pay cycle and will report directly to the Accounts Payable Lead in the Netherlands.


What impact you can create at CHANEL:


Invoice Processing

  • Review, validate, and process supplier invoices accurately and on time.
  • Ensure invoices comply with company policies and contain required supporting documentation.
  • Verify invoice details against purchase orders, goods receipts, and contractual agreements.
  • Identify and resolve invoice discrepancies with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensured full compliance with national and international VAT regulations during invoice verification and booking.
  • Manage expenses in line with rules and regulations.

Payment Management

  • Prepare and execute payment runs in accordance with approved payment schedules.
  • Monitor payment due dates to ensure timely settlement of supplier obligations.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and investigate outstanding balances.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable.

Vendor Management

  • Maintain vendor master data and ensure accurate supplier information.
  • Support supplier onboarding and documentation requirements.
  • Respond to supplier inquiries regarding invoice status, payments, and account balances.
  • Build and maintain positive supplier relationships.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to procurement and finance policies, including "No PO, No Pay" principles.
  • Maintain accurate audit trails and supporting documentation.
  • Support internal and external audit requests.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to strengthen controls and efficiency.

Systems & Reporting

  • Process transactions through ERP and procurement systems (e.g., D365, Coupa).
  • Prepare accounts payable reports, aging analyses, and payment forecasts.
  • Support data cleansing, reconciliations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in automation and digital transformation projects within Finance.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Successful experience of at least 3 years in a similar position
  • Passion for accounting regulations and bookkeeping
  • Experience with bookkeeping system D365 and high level of knowledge of Office 365 programs
  • You are an accurate, energetic, analytic, positive, and independent person
  • You are trustworthy with a high degree of integrity and ethics
  • Fulltime available and living in or around Copenhagen
  • Fluent in Danish and English
