Job Description Summary

Job Description

Are you passionate about workplace transformation, operational excellence, and creating environments where people can do their best work?

As the Workplace and Operational Excellence Program Leader for the Waukesha Campus (Intern/Co-Op) at GE HealthCare, you will join GEHC’s Waukesha Campus transformation program, designed to unify employee experience, customer experience, and campus appeal through modernized workspaces, upgraded amenities, connected collaboration environments, and a more cohesive campus experience.

This role will report directly to the Renaissance Program Leader and GE HealthCare’s Global Workplace and Operational Excellence Leader. You will work alongside professionals responsible for GEHC’s real estate portfolio, capital projects, workplace operations, and facilities excellence, helping coordinate cross-functional workstreams with campus teams, business partners, and suppliers; track readiness activities; monitor program tools and trackers; and contribute to the communications, documentation, and planning needed to support successful openings and long-term operational sustainment.

The Waukesha Campus is undergoing a significant workplace and operational evolution. Renaissance is intended to strengthen the campus as a core destination for colleagues, customers, and stakeholders by creating modern work environments, more connected collaboration spaces, upgraded campus amenities, improved service models, and a coordinated operational roadmap across workplace operations, technology, security, facilities, real estate portfolio priorities, and colleague experience. The program also has the potential to become a leading example for how GEHC defines, measures, manages, and maintains operational excellence across its global real estate portfolio.

A key part of this campus transformation includes partnering with the team standing up GEHC’s first Customer Experience Center, an immersive destination designed to educate stakeholders, strengthen relationships, and showcase GEHC’s devices, digital innovations, workflow solutions, and future roadmap in a patient-centric, visionary, and memorable way.

Key Areas of Impact

  • Operational Readiness Planning: Support the development and maintenance of readiness plans, program timelines, risks, issues, decisions, and key milestones across workstreams.

  • Cross-Functional Campus and Supplier Coordination: Work with businesses, enabling functions, project teams, suppliers, vendors, and campus stakeholders to gather inputs, validate needs, identify dependencies, and help ensure each detail is considered before opening renovated spaces.

  • Progress Tracking & Reporting: Assist with project dashboards, meeting notes, action logs, and follow-up tracking to keep workstreams moving against critical dates.

  • Program Tracking & Service Optionality Support: Monitor and organize existing program trackers, service assumptions, and good/better/best optionality inputs to help leaders maintain visibility into campus operating model decisions.

  • Change & Communication Support: Partner with Renaissance Program Team to draft and send clear communications, presentation materials, and engagement updates that help stakeholders understand program priorities and next steps.

  • Global Real Estate Exposure: Learn how a best-in-class global real estate team supports portfolio strategy, capital project delivery, day-to-day operations, facilities excellence, and workplace experience across a complex enterprise campus environment.

  • Customer Experience Center Support: Partner with the team advancing GEHC’s first Customer Experience Center and support readiness, coordination, documentation, and stakeholder engagement for this important campus investment.

  • Operational Excellence Playbook Support: Help document opening readiness practices, sustainment plans, lessons learned, and scalable operating model inputs that can inform an operational excellence playbook for deployment at key GEHC sites globally.

Qualifications

We’re looking for students who are ready to learn, contribute, and make a difference in a complex campus transformation environment. You are:

  • Currently enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university and returning to school after the internship.

  • Ability to travel to the GEHC Waukesha Campus for meetings as needed.

  • Pursuing a degree in Business, Operations, Facilities Management, Real Estate, Project Management, Communications, Organizational Development, or a related field.

  • Strong communicator with a collaborative mindset and comfort working across functions.

  • Organized and detail-oriented, with strong time management skills.

  • Demonstrates initiative and a self-starter attitude.

  • Developing proficiency in project management, meeting coordination, action tracking, and status reporting.

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We do not sponsor employment visas for this role.

Preferred Qualifications

You may stand out if you have:

  • Prior experience in project coordination, workplace experience, facilities, operations, communications, or transformation initiatives.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Smartsheet, Excel, PowerPoint, Generative AI, or similar collaboration and reporting tools.

  • Interest in workplace strategy, colleague experience, operational readiness, and continuous improvement.

  • Proven adaptability and community involvement.
