Description of Work

This position serves as the Workers’ Compensation Administrator and is responsible for overseeing and administering workers’ compensation claims for an assigned facility or program area. The position provides expert consultation, coordination, interpretation, communication, application, evaluation, and problem resolution related to workers’ compensation policies, procedures, and associated leave options.The Workers’ Compensation Administrator reviews and processes workers’ compensation actions within the Integrated HR and Payroll System (IHRPS) and Workday platforms. This position is responsible for ensuring the consistent and accurate application of workers’ compensation policies and procedures within assigned program areas. The Administrator works closely with agency leadership, Human Resources, employees, management, the third-party administrator (TPA), and assigned agency and outside legal counsel to effectively manage workers’ compensation claims and related matters. The Workers’ Compensation Administrator serves as the primary point of contact for employees and management regarding workers’ compensation questions, claim status, benefits, leave options, return-to-work matters, and applicable policies and procedures within their assigned caseload.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Grade Range: $37,377.00 - $65,408.00  

Recruitment Range: $44,385.00 - $65,408.00

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

  • Skill in applying, interpreting and communicating Workers’ Compensation regulations, policies, procedures and options.

  • Skill in communicating in oral and written form with high levels of confidentiality.

  • Experience with developing and tracking the OSHA 300 and 300A logs.
