About the role

We are looking for a Motor Winder to join our service centre team in Leeds. You will play a key role in the repair, rewinding, and refurbishment of various LV and HV motors, ensuring that all safety and quality standards are met.

This is an exciting time to join our growing Leeds Service Centre, which continues to expand its capabilities and customer base. The team specialises in the repair, overhaul, refurbishment, and testing of a wide range of rotating equipment, supporting customers across multiple industries. As we continue to invest in our people and facilities, we are looking for individuals who are keen to learn, take pride in their workmanship, and contribute to the ongoing success of the service centre.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Carry out detailed repairs on motors, including disassembly, inspection, and rewinding of coils using insulated wires, ensuring motors meet original specifications.
• Overhaul motors by cleaning, replacing worn components, and restoring them to optimal working condition.
• Diagnose faults in motor performance and efficiency, ensuring all defects are addressed during the repair process.
• Contribute to team performance by sharing knowledge and learning new techniques to enhance repair and refurbishment processes.

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience in motor winding, motor repairs, or rotating equipment maintenance.
• Ability to dismantle, inspect, repair, and reassemble electric motors to a high standard.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Commitment to health, safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
• A positive, hands-on attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
• Experience working with high-voltage and low-voltage motors is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
