Compensation
Pay Range: $200 – 235k annually, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
What You'll Do
• Co-anchor Denver's leading weekday newscasts, including 4 p.m., 5 p.m., and 10 p.m.
broadcasts.
• Deliver impactful, engaging storytelling across broadcast, digital, streaming, and social
platforms.
• Lead coverage during breaking news and major developing stories with confidence,
authority, and accuracy.
• Collaborate closely with producers, reporters, meteorologists, photojournalists, and
newsroom leadership to create best-in-class journalism.
• Contribute strong editorial judgment and help guide critical newsroom decisions.

• Work directly with photojournalists to craft compelling, memorable stories.
• Serve as a field anchor during breaking news, major events, and special coverage.

• Fill in on additional broadcasts, including evening anchoring duties on KTVD, as needed.
• Represent 9NEWS throughout the community and champion causes that make a
meaningful difference in Colorado.
What You Bring
• A passion for journalism and a commitment to serving audiences with trusted, fact-
based reporting.
• Exceptional live anchoring skills and commanding on-air presence.
• The ability to engage in authentic, spontaneous conversation and create memorable
viewer moments.
• Strong news judgment and a proven track record of handling breaking news coverage.
• Excellent writing, reporting, and storytelling skills across multiple platforms.
• A collaborative spirit and the ability to elevate teammates and newsroom culture.
• Curiosity, creativity, and a desire to continually innovate.
• A deep understanding of journalistic ethics, accuracy, fairness, and accountability.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field preferred.
• Five to seven plus years of experience in professional television news, including
significant anchoring experience.
• Proven success in a competitive news environment.
• Demonstrated ability to connect with audiences across broadcast, digital, streaming,and social platforms.

Our 401(k) program offers full, part-time and temporary employees the opportunity to contribute 1% - 80% of their pay on a pre-tax basis to TEGNA’s 401(k). Contributions made up to the first 4% of pay are eligible for a 100% match from the company and are 100% vested from day one.
