About the Team

Global Markets (GM) Business Finance team has the primary responsibility for providing strategic planning and performance management support to the regional GM business to enable strategic decision making and disciplined growth.  In addition, the team provides advisory and support on finance related matters, including accounting, regulatory, capital requirements and funds transfer pricing.

About the Role

The successful candidate shall act as finance business partner to Global Markets, responsible for the consolidation reporting across various business lines & countries and act as lead in cost analytics. The candidate will also be involved in managing various business & finance initiatives and reviewing products under the Product Programme for the Global Markets business.

The candidate must possess good accounting, business, operational knowledge of Global Markets and be able to leverage the experience to provide an external benchmark view of finance best practices for the business.

Key Responsibilities for the role will include:

Financial and Performance Management of Global Markets

• Produce financial reports for Global Markets, ensuring timely, accurate and insightful analysis. 
• Partner with stakeholders across locations for actual, forecast and budgeting-related matters.
• Drive best practices in financial analytics and reporting across the region.
• Support enterprise-wide, business-specific as well as finance-related initiatives.
• Participate in monthly products review or new product initiative under the Product Programme for the Global Markets business

Cost Analytics

• Support the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting exercises for Global Markets expenses.
• Partner with business stakeholders and enabler functions/business finance to develop realistic and data-driven expense forecasts.
• Produce and analyse monthly expense reports across the Global Markets business.
• Investigate month-on-month movements and variances against budget and forecast.
• Identify key cost drivers, emerging trends, unusual movements, and outliers requiring management attention.
• Monitor approved technology capex and track the end-to-end financial impact of technology investments to ensure appropriate reflection within monthly financial reporting.
• Support analysis and deep dive into allocated cost pools and drivers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or an equivalent professional certification.

• 5-10 years relevant working experience in the banking industry, preferably with exposure to Global Markets products and business activities.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Able to communicate well and collaborate with all levels of stakeholders.

• Able to work with large data and produce reports with meaningful insights.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint user.
