Job Summary:

Role: Clinical Team Lead for Ambulatory Addiction Services

Qualifications:
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service Provider designation
• Ability to supervise and manage LMSW, LCSW, and CPRS team members
• Three years or more of relevant experience in substance use and/or behavioral health treatment, preferably in a leadership/management position
• Experience with individual and group therapy facilitation, as well as crisis intervention
• Strong ability to multitask and critically analyze organizational and clinical needs
• Strong customer service, professional, and organization skills
• Competency of electronic programs including but not limited to excel, project management tools, EMR’s, and Microsoft Office

Key Function #1: Management & Professional Development of Multidisciplinary VISTA Team (LCSWs, LMSWs, CPRS, RN Case Manager)
• Collaborate with Division Director, Deputy Director, and Lead CPRS in recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of new LCSW/LMSW/CPRS team members
• Conducts performance reviews
• Manages caseload distribution- including therapy cases, SOR Social Work assignments, and balancing out daily appointment volume across program staff
• Demonstrates commitment to a clinical role by having a proportion of FTE dedicated to direct clinical work
• Ensures all Human Resources and VUMC policies/procedures are followed within the VRC/Bridge clinic spaces
• Standardize and monitor work processes of the multidisciplinary team

Key Function #2: Management of VISTA Ambulatory Addiction Clinics (VRC, Bridge)
• Provides presence, professional leadership and management in the execution of day-to-day VRC/Bridge clinics
• Collaborate regularly with Division Director, Medical Director, and Executive Medical Director of Ambulatory BH Services to ensure that VRC/Bridge clinic operations align with the goals of Vanderbilt Behavioral Health
• Attends treatment team meetings as they relate to VISTA services, including Bridge/VRC clinic huddles
• Assesses and resolves clinical care issues as they arise- including but not limited to providing crisis intervention in the clinical space, responding to patient care concerns, and partnering with other leaders to resolve any barriers to service delivery as they arise
• Educates staff on any changes to policy or procedures related to clinical workflows, as well as monitors implementation of such changes
• Manage external referrals from spokes/community and screen for eligibility, placement, and scheduling
• Manages optimal use of Epic and TNWITS by ensuring all staff are trained, and by anticipating and solving necessary workflow changes
• Leads the audit process for TennCare HMO’s (WellCare, Amerigroup, and United Health)
• Provides direct and indirect supervision to social workers and CPRS team members
• Function as the authorizing provider for all LMSWs and CPRSs within the VRC and Bridge Clinic spaces
• In collaboration with VPH Nursing leadership, provides within-scope supervision to RN Case Manager
• Collaborate with the Deputy Director of Middle-TN SOR Hub to review quality measures and initiatives, including but not limited to BESMART enrollment, TennCare audits, etc.

Key Function #3: Strategic Planning for the Division of Addiction Psychiatry
• Collaborate with the Division Director, Deputy Director, and Department leadership to strategize, implement, and improve programs within VISTA and Division of Addiction Psychiatry
• Identifies, evaluates, and implements strategies to improve programming, costs, and distribution of personnel within VISTA and Division of Addiction Psychiatry

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Maintains professional documentation which meets department and VUMC standards as it relates to compliance. • Provides brief targeted interventions for identified clients. • Completes psychosocial assessment and assists team with the development of the plan of care. • Provides education and or consultation to clients and families, treatment team and community. • Contributes to the organization by actively participating in process improvement initiatives and shared decision making. • The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned. TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES • Clinical Counseling (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate clinical counseling in practical applications of moderate difficulty. • Patient Evaluation (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the ability to conduct a patient evaluation in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Capable of effectively assessing the relative merits of alternative products or services. • Patient Assessment (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate patient assessments in practical applications of moderate difficulty. • Crisis Intervention (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate crisis intervention in practical applications of moderate difficulty. • Risk Management (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate risk management of moderate difficulty. Capable of conducting risk analysis as part of a task to address problems including determining risk factors, probability, impact, early detection and prevention. Able to prepare simple contingency plans and alternatives.
