VP, Strategic Partner Management – Group Insurance

This focused role is responsible for strengthening Prudential Group Insurance’s relationships with select strategic firms, producers, and distribution partners. The role will be accountable for growing relationships with firms’ regional and national contacts including COEs to set strategic alignment. This leader will also provide concierge-level escalation support, and coordination across regional, national, and COE contacts. Working closely with the Head of Distribution and Distribution leaders, this role will support local relationship strategies, partnership processes, stewardship routines, and Supplemental Compensation Program tracking and recommendations to help drive business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Relationship Management
    • Maintain and grow relationships with firms’ regional and national contacts, including Centers of Excellence, to ensure strategic alignment and provide concierge-level support as the single point of contact for escalations.
    • Support Distribution leaders in developing and implementing local strategies that deepen and broaden producer and firm relationships.
    • Partner with Event Planning and Distribution leaders to organize, host, and participate in networking events, conferences, and partner engagement forums.
  • Partnerships
    • Coordinate RFI responses for product and platform partnerships, ensuring alignment across Distribution, Product, Finance, Claims, Service, and other internal stakeholders.
    • Support the development of RFP processes and sales rules of engagement for formalized partner relationships.
    • Coordinate ongoing stewardship dialogue with partner firms to monitor progress, identify opportunities, and support desired business outcomes.
  • Supplemental Compensation Program
    • Develop and recommend producer Supplemental Compensation Program and GA program parameters to the Head of Distribution.
    • Support the Head of Distribution in negotiating non-standard compensation arrangements, where needed.
    • Track producer performance and manage firm additions and removals, with a focus on improving accuracy, governance, and automation of reporting processes.

Key Skills:

  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the insurance and employee benefits brokerage/consulting industry, with a focus on group insurance products and services.
  • Relationship Stewardship - Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders, engaging across multiple levels to support alignment, resolve issues, and strengthen partnership outcomes.
  • Consultative Approach - Ability to serve as a responsive partner to internal and external stakeholders by understanding needs, surfacing issues, and coordinating practical solutions.
  • Data and Reporting Discipline - Experience using data, reporting, and performance tracking to support decisions, improve accuracy, and strengthen operational execution.
  • Negotiation Support: Ability to support discussions and negotiations related to non-standard arrangements, balancing partner needs with business objectives and governance expectations.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and presentation broadly within the enterprise and with strategic partners.
  • Execution and Coordination: Ability to coordinate across teams, manage details, follow through on partnership priorities, and help move complex work forward in partnership with Distribution, Product, Finance, Claims, Service, and other stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to address challenges and find solutions that enhance partnership value.
  • Networking: Strong networking skills, with the ability to build and foster relationships at multiple levels within producer partners and internally across Distribution, Product, and Underwriting teams.
  • Continuous Improvement Experience improving processes, reporting, and ways of working to enhance partnership execution and program governance.

Work Experience requirements

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience operating at a senior level with focus on relationship management, strategic partnerships, distribution, sales enablement, or related roles
  • Comfortable using data to drive business decisions and operational excellence
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Travel up to 60%
  • Fully virtual

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $178,600.00 to $267,800.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
