Vice President, Sector Coverage (Mumbai based)

JOB SPECIFICATION

To support the positioning of MUFG as a lead bank in providing and anticipating key sector themes,

insights on opportunities and solving strategic and financing challenges for our clients across corporate and investment banking, with a focus on debt financing/capital structuring and deal execution.

1. Successful candidate will proactively support deal origination and execution as well as regional client engagement within our APAC Renewables, Utilities, Infrastructure and Transport (“RUIT”) sector

coverage vertical. Successful candidate will also have the opportunity to support across our integrated sector coverage business as deal flow presents, and in particular, provide deal support for digital

infrastructure opportunities within our Technology, Media and Telecom (“TMT”) sector vertical.

2. Sector Coverage undertakes key roles within Global Corporate and Investment Banking APAC, including

(1) engaging senior client executives with thematic and scalable cross-sector insights; (2) originating

event driven opportunities with local coverage, product and distribution partners; (3) leading origination and execution of corporate and strategic M&A debt financings; and (4) engaging with internal

stakeholders to promote optimal risk-return outcomes across the portfolio. Successful candidate will be involved in all of these activities with particular focus on sector insights, credit analysis, modelling/valuation, due diligence, loan structuring and debt financing/deal execution across APAC.

3. Successful candidate will help drive our India growth strategy and be part of our regional sector coverage team originating and executing strategic financings and solutions for our APAC clients. Role includes execution of strategic financing solutions through: (i) supporting credit decision making with development of financial models / analyses (including but not limited to comparable transactions / peer analysis) that enables better understanding and monitoring of deal risk, (ii) supporting preparation of client

pitch/marketing materials, deal roundtable packs, transaction documentation, investor / management presentations; and (iii) supporting day-to-day management of project and transaction execution.

4. Successful candidate will proactively engage clients in conjunction with Sector Coverage team members, coverage bankers and Product Office (PO) teams. PO teams include:

a. Project finance / Leveraged Acquisition Finance / ECA finance

b. Capital Markets Group

c. Ratings Advisory

d. Financial Markets

e. Treasury and Transaction Banking

5. Successful candidate will also support Sector Coverage team with our origination to distribution engagement activity working closely with coverage bankers, Capital Markets Group and product partners.
