Grow yourself and grow the company! Probate Advance is seeking an Underwriter & Probate Specialist to support our exceptional team and growing business. This is an excellent opportunity for an entrepreneurial self-starter looking to advance his or her career while working in a rewarding and team-oriented environment. The Underwriter & Probate Specialist will be responsible for analyzing deals we have already funded—monitoring their progress through the probate process and determining what actions, if any, are needed to ensure we are paid appropriately on our purchased assignments.
This is an in-person position based out of our office in Rye Brooke, NY.
Responsibilities:
- Perform due diligence analysis and review documentation in order to make smart decisions on which cases we should fund.
- Analyze all probate case documents to determine merits of each case
- Take a collaborative approach, working with team members to evaluate and close fundings
- Interact with heirs and attorneys as needed to evaluate cases
- Ask questions and discuss case issues with other members of the team, as needed
- Make recommendations on issue approvals and denials
- Interact with the sales team to ensure clients understand rationale for approval/denial
- Document details and decisions and keep thorough and accurate records of all case materials
- Assist with portfolio management and other ad hoc projects as needed
- Learn the probate process and work to innovate and improve due diligence processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Probate-related experience preferred
- Senior paralegal background preferred
- Previous underwriting or portfolio management experience a plus
- Strong analytical/reasoning skills, good judgment, and ability to comprehend legal documents a must
- Ability to integrate into a fast-paced environment
- Desire to join a high-energy team with a strong desire to win is crucial
- Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively
- Tech savvy
