Job Description Summary

The TSD Manager, P&C China is responsible for providing technical service, application development and customer support to drive growth in the China Paint & Coatings market, with a primary focus on biocides and microbial control solutions. The role partners closely with Sales, Marketing, R&D, Regulatory and Product Management to solve customer technical challenges, support new business opportunities and enable successful product adoption. The incumbent acts as a key technical interface with customers and translates market and customer needs into practical, value-creating solutions for Arxada. This is an individual contributor role with no direct people management responsibility.

Key Accountabilities:

•    Partner with Sales and Marketing to deliver business objectives and growth initiatives for the China Paint & Coatings market.
•    Provide expert technical support to customers, including product recommendation, formulation guidance, performance evaluation, troubleshooting and application optimization.
•    Develop and maintain strong technical relationships with strategic customers, distributors and relevant industry stakeholders.
•    Lead customer application projects from technical assessment through laboratory validation, customer trial support and commercialization follow-up.
•    Identify customer needs, market trends and competitive insights, and translate them into innovation opportunities, technical value propositions and growth projects.
•    Collaborate with Regional and Global R&D, Regulatory, Product Management, Quality and Supply Chain teams to support new product launches, product approvals and customer qualifications.
•    Prepare technical reports, laboratory data, product application guidance, presentations, training materials and customer-facing technical documentation.
•    Deliver technical training, seminars and customer presentations to strengthen product positioning and support commercial execution.
•    Ensure technical activities comply with Arxada safety, quality, regulatory and ethical standards, and promote best EHS practices in all laboratory and customer-facing work.
•    Maintain awareness of coatings technologies, biocide and microbial control trends, regulatory developments and competitor solutions relevant to the China market.
Business Travel:
•    Domestic travel within China and occasional regional travel of approximately 30-40% may be required.
•    Regular customer visits and technical engagement at customer sites are required.
 

Requirements:

• Strong technical knowledge of paint and coatings formulations, additives, microbial control solutions and application performance requirements.
• Ability to diagnose customer technical issues and translate formulation or performance challenges into practical solutions.
• Good understanding of China Paint & Coatings market dynamics, customer needs, regulatory context and competitive landscape.
• Hands-on laboratory capability includes experimental design, application testing, data interpretation and technical reporting.
• Strong customer-facing communication, presentation and technical training skills in Mandarin and English.
• Effective project management, prioritization and follow-up skills across multiple customer and innovation projects.
• Ability to influence without direct authority and work effectively in a matrix organization.
• Strong business acumen, analytical thinking and results orientation.
