Sentara is hiring a Transplant Authorization Financial Coordinator

 This is a FullTime position with day shift hours

Position is located in Norfolk, VA.

Job Requirements

• High School Grad or Equivalent

• Required: Related - 5 years

• Related experience includes 5 years working with Health Insurance Plans OR Medipac OR Registration/Billing OR a combination of the three. Medical Terminology required. Associates degree preferred

Position Overview

Provides a direct link between the patients, hospitals, primary care physicians and insurance providers. Determines financial eligibility, verifies insurance and benefits, provides counseling, resources and education, coordinates referrals from PCP's and monitors admissions. Serves as a resource for patients, families and physician office staff for bills, claims and estimated cost of services.

It is a 525-bed medical center, and home to the area's only Level I Trauma Center, Burn Trauma Unit and Nationally Ranked Heart Program. Sentara Norfolk General also serves as the primary teaching hospital for undergraduate and graduate education for the adjacent Eastern Virginia Medical School.
