PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Aircraft Mechanic Orientation Instructor is responsible for developing and delivering foundational orientation and workforce development training for aircraft maintenance personnel. The instructor provides new and transitioning employees with an understanding of basic aircraft maintenance concepts, safety practices, tools, terminology, work processes, and quality expectations necessary to begin working in an aircraft maintenance environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Develop and maintain training materials for classroom instruction and hands-on orientation activities.
• Develop and conduct new employee onboarding and basic aircraft mechanic orientation training.
• Provide instruction on basic aircraft maintenance terminology, aircraft systems, tools, equipment, and maintenance practices.
• Provide training on workplace safety, aircraft maintenance safety procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe use of tools and equipment.
• Introduce employees to applicable aviation maintenance regulations, technical publications, procedures, and documentation requirements.
• Provide instruction on basic aircraft inspection, servicing, maintenance, and troubleshooting concepts appropriate to the employee's assigned work area.
• Familiarize employees with aircraft maintenance work processes, quality standards, foreign object debris (FOD) prevention, tool control, and housekeeping requirements.
• Oversee and validate basic on-the-job training to ensure employees demonstrate an understanding of assigned tasks and work processes.
• Monitor employee performance and quality trends to identify training needs and recommend appropriate corrective or supplemental training.
• Maintain training records and documentation in accordance with company and program requirements.
• Coordinate with maintenance leadership, quality personnel, and other functional areas to identify workforce development and training requirements.
• Deliver training in a professional classroom and hands-on environment and adjust instructional methods based on employee experience and learning needs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Working knowledge of basic aircraft maintenance principles, practices, terminology, tools, and equipment.
• Knowledge of general aircraft maintenance safety practices and the ability to promote a strong safety culture.
• Familiarity with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), technical publications, maintenance procedures, and quality requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, maintenance instructions, safety rules, operating procedures, and other related documents.
• Workforce development, training, or instructional experience preferred.
• Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
• Ability to explain technical information clearly to individuals with varying levels of experience and technical knowledge.
• Intermediate computer skills, specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs.
• Ability to develop training materials, presentations, and routine reports.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.
• Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service, and follow-up.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify training needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Ability to evaluate employee performance and determine whether additional training or instruction is required.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations and apply basic measurements and calculations used in an aircraft maintenance environment.
• Ability to follow established processes, procedures, and technical instructions.
• Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to Yulista Integrated Solutions' goals.
• Must be trustworthy and able to handle confidential information appropriately.
• Must be able to work independently and stay on task with minimal supervision.
• Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize competing requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Previous experience working in an aircraft maintenance, aviation, aerospace, or military aviation environment preferred.
• Previous instructional, training, mentoring, or workforce development experience preferred.
• Familiarity with aircraft maintenance documentation, technical manuals, safety requirements, and quality standards.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification preferred, but not required, depending on program requirements.
• Ability to pass a drug and background screening.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance, if required for the assigned program.
