PURPOSE AND SCOPE

Amentum has an exciting opportunity for a full time Trades Person to join their team at the Alice Springs office.

The Trades Person position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor with day-to-day activities overseen by the Senior Maintenance Officer, you will perform the maintenance, repair and renovation work in residential properties in the town of Alice Springs. The Trades Person also provides support to trades and other personnel, as well as undertaking duties and tasks required.

This role may also involve occasional after-hours callouts.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities/Duties

Perform a wide range of tasks to support the organization in its undertaking of the Vesta contract requirements which include but is not limited to carpentry repairs and maintenance, tiling, small renovation projects, reticulation repairs, patch & paint walls, conduct landscaping works, construct fences and fencing repairs, operate machinery and perform paving and concrete works.

Support of other trades and other personnel and assist in other areas of facilities and maintenance, as required.

Undertake regular inspections and tasks within the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and certifications.

Undertake all work in a safe and professional manner ensuring safety is an integral part of everyday activities.

Report any incidents to management as a priority.

Use of computer systems to record and plan work tasks.

Work as part of a team.

Work to ensure that safety is an integral part of everyday activities.

Other duties as directed by the Vesta management team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Essential

Ability to understand written instructions and create basic written reports.

Ability to work within a team environment.

Well-developed oral and written communication skills.

Trade certificate - Carpentry or Joinery/Cabinetry

Current Drivers Licence

NT Work safe High-Risk Work – Boom type Elevated Work Platform licence.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS – Minimum Essential

Minimum Essential

A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a variety of maintenance tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDS

Alice Springs climate ranges from cold winters to hot summers. Trades Person activities include outdoor works in varying conditions.

Tasks include digging, trenching, landscaping, fencing and reticulation works in these conditions.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT

It is a condition of employment at JDFPG that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. The employee will require a Negative Vetting (NV1) Department of Defence Security Clearance (Australian).

STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTS

All personnel assigned shall be:

· At least 18 years of age.

· Able to fluently read, write and speak English

EHS REQUIREMENT

All Amentum personnel are responsible for understanding and complying with all site environmental, health and safety requirements. · Completing work tasks in a safe manner

· Red-Carding a Job - Employee right and responsibility to “STOP WORK” if a job is unsafe or possess a danger to the environment
