Job Description:
- Plan, execute and report test flights, supporting the development, certification, qualification, validation & verification (V&V) and acceptance of Flight Operations.
- Perform Test Pilot activities at the Airbus Test Centre and support other internal organisations, including activities at Airbus and customer facilities worldwide.
- Participate in test, production, delivery and training activities for the EF-2000 Typhoon, including in-flight and simulator activities as applicable.
- Participate in test, production, delivery and training activities for the A400M, Military Air Systems and Airbus Defence and Space derivative aircraft (A310, A330, A320, etc.), both in-flight and in simulators as applicable.
- Support the Chief Engineer Office and Programmes in the design and development of aircraft and systems, including support to FCAS and UAV programmes as required.
- Support operational and commercial activities as required, contributing Test Pilot expertise to programme, customer and business needs.
- Education: Engineering degree or Master’s degree will be valued.
- Flight experience: More than 2,500 flight hours, including at least 1,500 flight hours in combat aircraft.
- Flight Test experience: At least 5 years of experience as a Test Pilot in Development Test (DT), Certification & Qualification (C&Q), and Validation & Verification (V&V) activities.
- Flight Test Operations: At least 5 years of experience in Flight Test Operations management.
- Aircraft qualification and operational experience: Previous or current EF-2000 Typhoon qualification and Air-to-Air Refuelling (AAR) experience as tanker and/or receiver.
- Licences and ratings: Valid EASA CAT 1 or CAT 2 Test Pilot rating (USAF TPS and USNTPS qualifications are also accepted), EASA CPL/ATPL(A), ME, IR and UPRT ratings, and a valid EASA Class 1 Medical Certificate. MCC qualification will also be valued.
- Languages: Advanced level of English (ICAO Level 5 or above) and native-level Spanish.
- Security clearance: NATO SECRET Security Clearance and Spanish National Security Clearance for SIRTAP & FCAS.
- Valuable / Nice to have: Flight Test Instructor (FTI) qualification and experience, any valid Airbus Type Rating (TR), UAV qualification and/or experience, and an Engineering degree or Master’s degree.
