Temp/Perm Maintenance Technician 1st – Conroe, TX

We have an opportunity for a Temp/Perm Maintenance Technician to join our Conroe, TX team. You will install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipes, and electrical systems at site.    

You will: 

• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment and troubleshoot and repair 
• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts. 
• Discusses machine operation variations with operators, supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine. 
• Troubleshoot and install electrical equipment, 4-20ma, 24vac, 90vdc, single and 3-phase up to 480v, VFD, PLC, Servo Drive, Encoder, Proximity Switch, laser sensors.  
• Maintains TPM program from factory equipment. 
• Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers
• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.    
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.   
• Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. 
• Makes emergency repairs when necessary to limit excessive downtime and production delays. 
• Sets up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.  Operates cutting torch, welding equipment to cut and fabricate items. 
• Coordinates material requisitions needed for each project. 
• Follows all 5S practices and supports lean activities, as well as safety regulations policies and procedures.
• Works to reduce equipment down time.
• Troubleshoot electrical controls, PLC, Servo controls, Temperature controls, Encoders 
• Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment
• Facilitates the training of maintenance technicians         

Key Qualifications: 

• High School diploma/GED 
• 1 – 3 years of maintenance experience 
• Must be able to stand and work 10 hours a day
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.   
• Be able to set up and operate basic, manual metal fabrication machines   
• Be able to utilize calibrated precision measuring instruments   
• Be able to read and interpret blueprints  
• Be able to use precision measuring tools  
• Be able to read and write to comply with written instructions and complete departmental paperwork 
• Be proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams 

Shift/Hours: 

• 1st shift hours Monday through Thursday from 5am – 3:30pm   OT on Friday.
• Must be open to working overtime if needed on Friday
• This is a temporary position with the potential to transition to permanent status after 90 days

Compensation: 

The hourly pay range for this role is: $32.00 - $37.00/hr. DOE. Opportunity for a rate increase after you are proficient in certain skills and have fulfilled training. Actual pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, and experience.
