The Technical Product Owner for End-to-End Lending Automation is responsible for driving the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of intelligent lending capabilities that transform the commercial lending lifecycle from deal origination through underwriting, credit approval, documentation, booking, servicing, monitoring, and portfolio management.

This role partners closely with lending, credit, operations, risk, and technology teams to identify automation opportunities, streamline workflows, reduce manual touchpoints, and improve the speed and quality of lending decisions through AI-enabled solutions. The ideal candidate possesses strong product management and Agile delivery experience, deep expertise in commercial lending and credit processes, and a proven ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technology solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Lead their delivery team’s priorities in PI planning, sprint planning, and other agile ceremonies; aligned to larger experience platform priorities and vision defined by product management.
2.    Align with product managers to clearly articulate product strategy to the delivery team.
3.    Deliver new experiences by working directly with delivery, experience design, business, and operations partners to design new products and improvements to existing capabilities.
4.    Author and maintain the team’s backlog of user stories and serve as a subject matter expert on features, user stories, and product capabilities.
5.    Perform triage on critical issues and communicate consistently and clearly with all concerned parties.
6.    Serve as key resource to development team to answer questions, provide clarifications, and conduct and coordinate business validation, focusing on fitness for use.
7.    Update leadership on the epic and feature delivery schedule, including dependencies impacting deliverables, along with recommended solutions.
8.    Partner with solution architects and other technical leads to ensure their solutions effectively address program priorities while balancing client experience and technical integrity.
9.    Facilitate sprint planning with stakeholder groups to drive alignment and visibility for which features will be built when, and to ensure overall adherence to the product roadmap and enterprise strategic themes.
10.    Facilitate sprint demos and provide final acceptance for completed user stories in sprint demos; ensuring that the story meets acceptance criteria and otherwise meets its definition of done.
11.    Co-ordinate the creation of release-specific business documents, such as support model definitions, go/no-go approvals, internal release notes, and release-related living documents.
12.    Risk management: Ensure all Product Management Lifecycle (PML) process & procedures are followed, supporting security, risk, audit, and more, and ensure action items and deadlines are met. Partner with product manager on evidence to support recommendations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1.    Bachelors’ degree in business, engineering, design, or technology field; or related field or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
2.    Five or more years of banking, financial services, digital, or other relevant work experience
3.    Three or more years of product, analysis, technology, and/or design experience
4.    Three or more years of leading cross functional teams
5.    Experience defining and delivering digital business initiatives to execute on a product roadmap
6.    Demonstrated technical acumen and an ability to work with the technology organization to align product and technology roadmaps
7.    Ability to translate strategic plans into tactical daily actions for execution
8.    Ability to lead cross-functional teams without formal authority
9.    Comfortable managing concurrent projects in a fast-based, results-driven environment
10.    Comfortable with ambiguity, leading work autonomously, and making independent decisions
11.    Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret data and trends, diagnose problems, and recommend action plans to resolve issues
12.    Excellent skills in presentation, facilitation, communication, and negotiation

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Agile certifications such as CSPO, SAFe POPM, or SAFe Agilist

2. Experience with commercial banking, commercial real estate (CRE) lending, and credit operations

3. Expertise in loan origination, underwriting, spreading, risk rating, covenant monitoring, and portfolio management processes

4. Strong functional requirements and workflow design capabilities

5. Consulting or business transformation experience; and hands-on experience implementing AI, GenAI, intelligent document processing, automated spreading, credit memo generation, workflow orchestration, and decision-support solutions that enhance productivity while maintaining regulatory compliance, governance, and human oversight.

6. Based on your WLSE transformation objectives, this role should be focused on modernizing the lending process through digital workflows, AI-assisted decisioning, and operational automation that improves client experience, teammate efficiency, and credit risk management outcomes.

7. Previous experience working as a Product Owner for Agile team(s)
8. Experience working with distributed teams (onshore/offshore)
